Ok so I make naughty cakes sometimes when ppl acutally ask for them. I email a few ppl who just want to see my cakes so I have them in a business catagory in my email. Well I have over 200 ppl subscribe to my naughty cakes and want to be emailed so I have them in the naughty cakes catagory in my email. Somehow the business catagory was added to the naughty cakes catagory and OOOOH boy it wasnt pretty yesterday. I did a naughty cake and emailed it to the naughty cakes ppl catagory and not soon after I sent it out I get an email asking me not to send them to this person that she didnt want to see them. That is when I discovered that they had been added and took her off immediately and appologized over and over she understood it was a mistake no big deal.

Well then I get another email telling me not to email these nasty discusting cakes "her opinion no problem" to her That she doesnt want to see "explicit word female part explicit word male part". I appologized and removed her name from the list and told her it would never happen again and that I had no idea how her name got on the list. I asked her was the the 1st email with them in it she has gotten from I was trying to find out what happend and when it happened to see if it was my fault or report it to yahoo.
Well she wasnt satisfied yet .She had to tell me off some more saying she doesnt care if it was the 1st or 10th time she doesnt want them " which I understood" but the words she used were uncalled for. So I just left her alone after that saying She will never recieve another email from me again that it was an accident but she has been deleted completely from my contact list.

A few other ppl told me they were accidently put on and politely asked me to take them off as well." I sent out another email saying if you received an email with naughty cakes to let me know if you didnt subscribe and I would remove them immedidately that somehow they were added". about 7ppl total so far were added by accident. The were very nice about it and understood. I just felt bad all night long that this happened and I have no idea how it did. That is why I had seperate catagories so ppl who wanted to see them could.

Ugh.. thanks for listening.

Oh no!!! That sucks. Hopefully you get no more backlash from this. In the grand scheme though... not a HUGE problem since most were able to be polite about it. Mistakes happen, it's how you handle them that lasts in people's minds. You have been professional and courteous and that is what really matters. icon_smile.gif

E-mail gaffes are the worst.

I think you did the best you could with a bad situation by being proactive and sending them an e-mail, notifying them of the potential problem.

As jkalman said, "Mistakes happen" it's not the end of the world. You did what you could to fix the issue and that's it. We all have or seen those parts before. LOL

i have those cakes on my website too but they are blocked, and if someone is looking for that kind of cake they have to email me and i will send them the link to see them. Perhaps you could do it that way too, have people request to see the pages instead of sending them out and risking sending them to people who didn;t ask.

That sucks that that happened. Luckily it wasn't such a big deal to most of them. Maybe you will even get naughty orders from non naughty clients now icon_biggrin.gif

I always find it funny that the ppl who get so offended by naughty images or bad words are the ones that use them the most. The lady doth protest too much, methinks.

As a European I would've said, no biggie. As an adult with a child, I say the same. She knows what we look like, and what she will look like in several years. She knows where babies come from and how. She is nearly twelve but I always say and firmly believe, that forbidden fruit are always the most tasty ones. You apologised and tried to rectify the situation, that's all you can do. Unfortunately there will always be people, who say that isn't enough, but in my opinion, that is their problem, not yours.
The more calm you stay, the more people will believe you in that it was a mistake, you could do nothing about, so stay calm, explain if they ask, apologise ( that is what they will always tell their kids to do, when they do something wrong, so they should be able to accept it as well) but other than that, there is nothing else you can do. Be natural about it, that is the best defense and the most believable as well

Isn't it funny that she doesn't want "nasty" pictures emailed to her, but she has no problem having a filthy mouth! icon_confused.gif This lady (and I use the term loosely!) needs a reality check! icon_wink.gif

Don't loose any sleep over her, you did the best you could in a bad situation and handled it very well!

I can't look at naughty pictures but I can talk a sailor into embarassment icon_lol.gif UHM, get over it! Perhaps if you do send a group mailer out you could include a warning in the message line. Adult content. That way if they recieve it and don't want it they can delete it. I am so sorry this happened to you.

Oh get this one of the ppl who were email by accident was a preachers wife who got a cake from me before. She was the sweetest of all she said I dont think Im suppose to be on this list, it would be inappropriate for me to buy a cake but it looks realistic and you did a great job and it wouldnt keep me from ordering a cake from you its just another form of your cake art! I was like wow thanks so much for being so understanding.

LOL @ TITS HAPPEN! LOL

WOW that lady sounds like my MIL. Always the first the say what is appropriate and what isnt..but I'll be damned when she does it and doesnt want any one calling her out.

I agree with another poster. You should have the naught pics blocked and have then request the link if that's the kind of cake they are wanting.

I wouldnt have responded like that. I simply would have said hey can you send it to this email and not my work..or Hey I'm not into these cakes but you can send me another link to kids cakes!

I swear some ppl are impossible. Nothing you could have done or said would have pleased her..I bet she's a freak in bed! LOL

It seems to me like you handled the situation as well as could be expected. You can't undo it and apologies have been made. I'd remove those few individuals from my mailing list and forget it. Sorry it happened to you but things happen and you can only do so much, ya know?

Thanks!! I feel better about it now, and the fact that 99% of the ones that were not suppose to be on there were very understanding and appreciated the fact that I didnt mean to send them cake "porn" icon_rolleyes.gif
