Hi everyone! My husband promised our church that I would make 2 dozen chocolate, marchmallow filled cupcakes for Friday evening. Here is my question, Has anyone ever filled cupcakes with marshmallow fluff? Or any suggestions for a marshmallow filling? Thanks

I have!! icon_smile.gif Chocolate cupcakes filled with Fluff are like being snapped back to my childhood. My grandmother made them all the time. Just put some into a piping bag and fill them. It's messy work, but very good.

I did it for my dd's cupcakes I sent to school on Monday. Then she brought a few back home. They were good, but the mashmallow cream just soaked into the cake.

You might try mixing it w/ just a little buttercream. Just enough to keep it more stable & squeezable!

Or you could cut the big marshmallows in 1/2, fill the bottoms of the cups, put in the marshmallow & then cover w/ more batter. it's hard to explain what it's like. You don't have one big marshmallow, b/c it melts when baking.

Good luck & let us know how it turns out.

It's similar to marshmallow cream, but Fluff is less runny. Makes damned good sandwiches too... smack some peanut butter on sone slice and some fluff on the other and you are in heaven.

You could try this too... similar to "Twinkie" filling......
2 teas. VERY hot water
rounded 1/4 teas. salt
2 C. marshmallow cream ( 1 7oz. jar )
1/2 C shortening.... (Crisco)
1/3 C. powdered sugar
1/2 teas. vanilla

1. Combine salt and hot water and mix until salt is dissolved. Let cool....

2. Combine next 4 ingredients in medium bowl. Mix on high speed until fluffy.

Add salted water and mix until combined......Makes about 11/2 Cups...
Pipe it right into your cupcakes.... tastes good and holds up well.....

http://www.marshmallowfluff.com/

This is the Fluff website... you can order some from there I believe. icon_smile.gif It's so good. I grew up near where it's produced and have been eating it for as long as I can remember. It's wicked good if you plop a scoop on your hot chocolate too. icon_wink.gif

I made the cupcakes and they turned out great. I used marshmallow fluff and the only problem I had was that I squeezed too much into the cupcake so I had a small mound of MMF on top but when I dipped into the ganache they looked great. I also dipped them in chocolate jimmies. YUM

Maria, I'm looking forward to trying gramma_j's recipe too. I copied it down as soon as she posted it, but I haven't had a chance to use it yet. The recipe says it makes 1.5 cups. How many cupcakes did you fill? Did you use the tip method or the apple corer method? Did you have any filling left over, and if so, does it store well?

Thanks so much for posting your success!! Looking forward to your response! icon_smile.gif
