I have a chocolate carved cake coming up and I'm wondering how the Super Enhanced Recipe would work for a carved cake and what everyone thought of the recipe? Is the cake dense enough for carving? Or what do you suggest for a recipe for a dense chocolate cake good for carving and stacking?
Thanks,
Amy
The Super Enhanced Cake Formula has 115 reviews with a rating of 4.30, so it is highly rated:

However, I think the WASC cake and any of its flavor variations are the most popular doctored cake mix recipes on CC (including carving).

Above thread has popular CC recipes for: doctored cake mixes, American b/c using either Crisco or hi-ratio shortening and fondant. (Fondant, b/c and filling usage charts.)

P.S. The cakes themselves don't support anything but their decorations. The tiered/stacked layers are held up by the cake support system (not the cake layers below).
