HELP...does anyone have a recipe for a small batch of royal icing??? I just need a little to attach a fondant/gumpaste piece to popsicle sticks to stand up on top of a cake. I don't really want to make a whole batch. If not, is there anything else you can recommend that will be strong enough to "glue" the sticks to the piece? I've heard about melting candy melts, but I just don't know if they're strong enough.
Thanks.
The most I've ever gotten away with was cutting Antonia74's recipe in 1/2. I'm not sure if you could do it even less than that but it'd be worth a try...let us know how it works!

as a quick fix, would the wilton cookie icing work? I've never used it but it would be fast and you could just keep the bottle on hand. Kind of like elmers cake glue. Just an idea.
How about making some gumpaste glue? Put a small piece of gumpaste in a small amount of water till it dissolves. Make it pretty thick. Not sure if it would be strong enough for what you want though.
i often mix upjust a small amount by hand, using the wilton recipe.
2 cups of powdered sugar
1 1/2 tbs meringue pwd
and 2 1/2 tbsp water,
makes less then a cup.
put it all in a bowl and mix it well.
chocolate will always work.
Thanks for the ideas. I think I will either try the small batch of royal icing that you gave me or the chocolate. I was just worried that the chocolate wouldn't be strong enough to support it. It's not a big piece though. It's just a crown, so I may even try the chocolate first.
Thanks again.
