Yeast Conversion From Grams To Ounces Please
Decorating By pirogilady Updated 24 Feb 2009 , 5:18am by chutzpah
hi everyone. I posted the same question few years ago but lost the post after CC had to be rebuilt some time ago so I have to ask again:
using european recipes, how do i convert the amount of yeast from Grams to Ounces (or teaspoons or what have you). it's can't be direct conversion- otherwise if a recipe calls for 30 grams of yeast, in ounces i'd have to use so much yeast that it will rise to the ceiling!!!
Please- any help is appreciated. i love those recipes but the yeast portion is so confusing....
thank you to anyone who can help!!!
I use a nifty little free program by Josh Madison called Convert. I have used it for years and currently have it on this laptop which has Vista even though I didn't see Vista listed on the download site. This way, you don't have to be connected to figure out what is what. It converts just about everything but currency. Check out

or your favorite download site.
thank you very much
i will try both links. i have the feeling one of you speaks hebrew- if you do- you might know the book i am translating the conversion from !!!
if i am wrong about this- forgive me. the book is "ugot le-kol et"...
