I can not say enough good things about ALL of Sharon's DVD's. They are well thought out, easy to follow and full of excellent information that will make your cakes look great. I have watched Boxes and Bows and will be making the lingerie box this week. I'll post a picture to show that the rest of us mortals can achieve her looks by following the DVD.

Also rewatched the Buttercream DVD yesterday to refresh my memory and see what things I need to do better. They are all well worth the $$$!!

I've just gotten past the Valentine cake on disc #2 (I have to watch a little @ a time bc of the baby.). I was wondering how to serve this type of cake with gumpaste sides. Do you take the sides off before serving? I know that on the blue & brown cake Sharon said to cut through the box lid to serve otherwise it would mess up the cake (I think that top was made of fondant).
Also, where can I find Nic Lodge's gumpaste recipe? I've only used Wilton gp, & it's not that east to work with.
BTW, the DVD is awesome! So much information and very easy to follow. I've had a clay extruder for a while now, & never knew some of the things that you could make with it. I've also never knew the right way to make pearls with my mold until now. That loop tree is amazing. I can't wait to have hubby make one for me.
Thanks Sharon! I have all of your DVDs & love them all. They are excellent teaching tools. I can't wait til you make more!
Wish you could come to TN & teach a class.

the valentine cake sides are fondant also; only the lid is gumpaste. i would cut it with sharp knife and not remove them.

[b]THX. I guess I missed that part. It's kind of hard to pay attention with a baby in your lap.

LOL....Yes, that's him....He still talks about you and always makes sure to tell me (and anyone else who will listen) that you are his favorite cake maker...Luckily I don't get my feelings hurt easily...LOL....He pulls out his play-doh all the time and pretends like he's you decorating his cake with fondant....It's too cute...I think you have a fan for life...

On a different note....I watched my "Boxes and Bows" dvd's and loved them!!...As ususal, you outdid yourself...There is just so much information that I'm going to have to watch them again....I love the fact that you broke it down for us to be able to watch a specific cake design...You're a great instructor and I can't wait to see what you have for us next...

P.S. I'm hoping to make it to ICES, but I'm not sure yet...I am going to the National Capital Area Cake Show... I was dissapointed to see that you weren't going to be there this year... icon_sad.gif

Sharon Sharon Sharon!!! You've done it again!!! Another great DVD!!! I LOVE IT!!!! I have them ALL and just when I thought I couldnt possibly learn any more - BAM - !!!! Please give us a hint on what is coming up next, can I make a suggestion - Topsy Turvy or 3D cakes (I think we already spoke about the 3D cakes). But truly, all the DVD's that you have done are so professional, fun and loaded with tons of info. I find myself watching them over and over and learning something every time!!!!

Thank you a million times over!!!! I can't wait to make a box and some bows. Do you know where I can get one of those stands to dry my bows? I know you made yours. I was eyeing my outdoor towel rack that's by the pool to dry the towels - UGH!!!!

I am clearly behind everyone else....I just got my FIRST DVD-the buttercream one! But I completely agree with everyone els-you are great Sharon. You are a natural teacher, you don't hold any tips/tricks/info back and you have lots of skill. You are at ease in front of the camera. I am kicking myself for not finding this resource sooner!! Many Thanks!!

Sharon, love your new dvd!! It kicks booty with all the info it has about doing the boxes, bows and lids.

I for sure would have done a lid the hard way icon_lol.gif I really like the tip on using the shortening. There is so much information in this dvd, I know I will be watching it a lot! I also like the idea of you leaving in some of the bloopers. Not only do you have wonderful cake skills, but also your teaching skills make it easy to follow and learn. I thought the BC dvd was off the hook, but after the stacking dvd and this one, they are neck to neck. I really couldn't pick a favorite, they are all #1 for me.

I would like to ask you, were did you get your brushes you use? I like the look of them and I really like the long handle they have. Thank You for such a wonderful dvd (for all your dvd's) and not leaving anything out...and showing everything step by step.
God Bless,
Sharon

Sharon,
Your video was awesome as usual! I loved it, but it did leave me thinking that i don't have nearly enough patience to make things as perfect as you do. Thank you so much for sharing all of your wisdom with us. I can't wait for your next video. Could it be a topsy turvy? Carved cakes? flowers? Only time will tell and I will order the next one too.
