So I was out checking out a bridal show today, giving all the cake decorators the third degree, when one decorator mentioned that there is no tax on wedding cakes! icon_confused.gif Is this true?? I'm so confused? Why wouldn't there be? Has anyone else heard of this?

The only tax on a Wedding cake here in Canada is GST and unless you make more than $30,000 you don't have to register for GST. If you rent out items such a plateaus and I believe deliveries they are taxable if its not included in the cake price then you have to charge pst on it. I'm not positive on the pst though you'd have to check on that one.
