Hello ~ I would greatly appreciate anyone knowing the recipe for the ''edible laquer'' to share it with me. I remember it as a short & quick recipe.
Thank you ~
I don't have a recipe, but here's a link if you want to buy some: http://www.globalsugarart.com/product.php?id=18231
Hi bobwonderbuns ~ Thanks for the link. They are out of stock and it's really quite pricey. I know I saw this recipe here at CC but can't find it again. Maybe it's called something other than ''laquer''??
Was it maybe 'varnish'?

Hi Walls1971 ~ It could have been, I'll have to take a look while I look again for the ''LACQUER'' (not laquer). It helps to spell correctly; I knew when I looked at it something was wrong with the spelling. Should have looked it up. LOL
Thanks ~ I'll go look now!
Hi Walls1971 ~ You are right, it is ''VARNISH''. Recipe submitted by: ''pinkbox''.
Now the embarrassing part. I had save this recipe in my ''recipe box''. Apparently I skimmed right over it in my haste to find it. DUH!!! LOL
Anyway, thanks much to both 'Walls1971' and 'bobwonderbuns' for replying to my plea for help!!
Confectioner's glaze is supposed to be for display pieces only - it smells like paint thinner.
I just use piping gel mixed with vodka (or lemon extract). It's shiny and dries without being sticky.
Hi MacsMom ~ OOOOOOOOOO This is even easier!! I'll have to give this a whirl too. What is the ratio of gel to vodka/extract? How is it applied?
Thanks!!!!
It's probably 50/50... I just add enough vodka to thin it enough to paint it on easily. I've used an artists paintbrush and those inexpensive foam brushes.
Thanks for the vodka and piping gel, cool idea and very easy. Gosh what we do without cc members and all their knowledge. I just have to love you!
