Question For Stacking 5 - 12 X 3 Cakes..

I am about to stack 5 12 X 3 round cakes right on top of the other.. Each cake is on its own cardboard cake round. Can I just stack them and use three long dowels and go through all cakes, or should each layer be supported then use the three long dowels so it wont shift.

Only dowel the tiers that you don't want to collapse.
