You could all fly out to Scotland to pick me up and then we could get the train to Germany, we would have to go to London first, then Paris, then Brussels (for Chocolate) and then to Germany.

This could be fun!

Wow, Saracupcake! You almost make me wish we wouldn't get them!! Oh how I would love to take a trip like that! And the chocolate in Brussels icon_biggrin.gif Sinful!

Fiddle.........no I have not tried the Michaels ones on anything yet but can probably do so tomorrow. I am currently making up a dozen pink and red gumpaste roses for some Valentine cake orders and thought would try stamping on some gumpaste ribbon strips . You know how words are written on ribbon? That is what I thought I would try and do with the Michaels ones and the German ones once they get here. I thought it might be creatively cute to stamp out "Be Mine" etc....on some gumpaste ribbons for the Valentine cakes.
You think that will work OK? Still thinking of more ideas too.
I'll let you know how it works for me once I get to it......tomorrow? Had to quit for today so I can get dinner cooked. Better go get started on it now, dang it! thumbsdown.gif I would rather still be working on roses!!! thumbs_up.gif

Hello to all, I'd like to order this letters since I love making cookies, but can you cut fondant with these cutters or they're too small? are they only for impressions? in that case you can only use them on the cookie without icing? sorry for asking so many question I'd like to order them, but have my doubts.

Rosie, I just got on too this thread yesterday, thanks to Fiddlesticks, but its my impression that these are only to make the impression into the icing or fondant--not to make a cut-out. Someone correct me if I am wrong! I ordered anyway and hope all of you will be posting what you think about them! thumbs_up.gif

Here is the link to purchase the item at ebay;

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=360072964525&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fshop.ebay.com%3A80%2F%3F_from%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dm38%26_nkw%3D360072964525%26_sacat%3DSee-All-Categories%26_fvi%3D1

From what I understand, this cuts a cookie and stamps the words into it at the same time.
If you can cut and stamp cookie dough with it then I do not see why we can not cut fondant/gumpaste with it.

Go get you one before she sells out of them! icon_smile.gif

If you can make a stamp in a cookie Im sure its perfect for fondant to. Well I think thats what some of us are planning anyway. That was the whole idea for me I dont really want to stamp a bare cookie..
I think it comes with a cookie cutter also but you can use the stamper on its own . Lea is that how you see it being used ???
I think it just hapens to comes as a kit.
Linda Glad to hear you ordered some to!

Just found this thread...and I bought a set, too! That ebay store is going to wonder why these are selling so quickly in such a short time. I tend to be an impulse buyer with kitchen gadgetry. There were 13 left after my purchase. Thanks for this thread and the answer to our fondant stamping "prayers."

The ebay seller emailed me last evening to inquire about how I knew of these cutters. I explained this thread at CC to him and told him to be prepared for lots of sales and to keep plenty in stock. I told him I put a direct link to his ebay page in this thread and to get ready for a likely rush on sales. As fellow CC'rs we know this could be quiet the understatement! icon_lol.gif

Kayla..............You just possibly ruined my day!!! icon_sad.gif This morning I have plans to roll out some fondant/gumpaste and try out my new rubber ones from Michaels...........Oh well, I'll try them anyway. If nothing else I can use them to stamp words onto gumpaste gift cards/tags using food colors for the ink.
What did you try them on?

I have a question on those cutters from ebay -- what if I want to just use the lettering and my own shaped cutters? Is that possible or is it their letters, their cutter shapes?

Bobwonderbuns-It is my understanding from the previous posts that the letters can be used with or without the cutter.

Yes, I believe, you can use the letters only. It comes with a cutter, but you can use your own cutters. In any case we will tell you when we get them.

Well. I think the cutter and the letters are going to be separate so you could use both or either! At least thats what I am planning! Hope thats right anyway! I can't wait to see how the lettering does on some fondant!

Because it says this Im pretty sure you can use any cutter you want to.
"Anyways...Once your dough is rolled to about 1/2 inch thick, and cut squares or rectangles with a sharp knife or other shapes with the cookie cutter that you like."
I took that off the ebay link !

Kayla1505.....I did try them out this morning and like you, the letters didn't show up well for me either. So, I got a tiny paint brush and some food color paste and painted the vague lines of the letters. They showed up well and ended up looking pretty neat. Maybe you can still use yours and do the same thing. I like the stamps but they do need painted in. I took a picture.......will see if I can attach it to this post. Here goes.

Mine Arrived!

They are fab!

I tried them and I think the result is great, they are fiddly cause they are so small but worth the effort.

It comes with one scalloped edge biscuit (cookie) cutterand also with a separate bar that you could use to press into anything.

I'll make something later and post a picture!
