If you participated in any of the 2008 Throwdowns and would like to participate in the 2008 Throwdown Ultimate Championship in January, please REPLY HERE.

Here's how it will work (and to keep it simple).

1. All the winners compete against each other in their skill set
2. All the losers compete against each other in their skill set
3. All Photos are due by 3 pm CST on Saturday, January 24, 2009

Note: If you won a TD, but then lost a subsequent one, you would be in the Winner's Circle - you can't be in both.

Please REPLY here with the following informaiton if you want to participate.

1. Your name and Screen Name
2. The month(s) you won your TD or Lost your TD
3. Your skill level so I put you in the right group.
a) Beginner - decorating for less than 2 years
b) Intermediate - decorating for 2 to 4 years
c) Advanced - decorating for 4+ years
4. Each group will get to select their theme

If you know of someone who won, but isn't on here much anymore, can you please let me know so I can PM them or if you can, that would be GREAT!

Hopefully we have enough interest and hopefully we have more than 1 person in each skill level.

Also, we were supposed to have 4 TD's this month. I am declaring Jillmakescakes a winner for her throwdown by default as her opponent had to cancel due to an illness. I have already advised her to add herself to this list - the winner's list - with a link to her photo.

Hey Tina - How funny, I just sent you an email. I think I found all the TD contestants and reached out to them via email. Let's hope we get some takers. Here's who I emailed:

kansaswolf
pinklesley1
Sugar_Plum_Fairy
marthajo1
BrandisBaked
cocorum21
Wendoger
ladyonzlake
crazy4sugar
jkalman
tiptop57
Sugar_Plum_Fairy
wgoat5
Teekakes
live">]Coutouriere - Jacque can't do it right now, but said thanks anyway.

And since whoever created the TD's said that throwdowns are for only 2 contestants, we'll need to call this contest something different....How about:

"Ultimate TD Smackdown - '08 Winner's Circle"
"Ultimate TD Smackdown - '08 Loser's Corner"

OK, count me in. I am so far out of the CC loop these last few months that I am not sure what all has happened with the TD's.
I am sooooooooo glad you all have continued on with them and to know they are still going strong! icon_smile.gif

1. Lea......TeeKakes
2. Loser. First TD ever.....April I think is when I started this by
challenging Christi, WGoat5, to an Easter ThrowDown. She was stuck
in a rut and kind of depressed regarding what theme to make for
Easter. She did not want the typical bunnies, eggs, chickens, etc.....I
thought a challenge would be a good way to get her creative juices
flowing and become a fun thing for CC members on a monthly
basis. icon_smile.gif
3. Intermediate. I started cake decorating in January of 2007, making
next month my 2 year anniversary.

lwt me throw my 2 cents in. i have a real problem liiting the number of tiers of a cake, sometimes you can not fit a complete idea into 2 tiers. and since this is the ultimate... can we make it anything goes....

lea nice to have you back

ladies have a very merry xmas... and as lea said... may thenew year bring us all good thing... lord knows we all need it...

Lesley -

Someone changed the rule from 2 tiers to 3 tiers. I would think you would be able to acheive the look that you want with 3 tiers. Will 3 be enough for you?

We have to wait to see who wins/loses the December Throwdowns and see if any of them want to participate. I'd like to give them a couple days to decide after the TD ends. I'll give them until Tuesday to respond and then I'll post the groups.

K2Cakes - you aren't too late. I'll add you to the list!

Leslie - the themes are decided by the group. Once I post the groups, you can all get together and decide what you want to do. Or, you can all add your ideas here and I'll draw the themes from a hat and assign them that way.

Here are some ideas that I came up with:

Vintage - 1920's theme - Flappers, Gangsters, etc.
Super Bowl Theme - this is obvious
Love Theme - anything involving love
TV Cartoon Theme - your favorite toon
Black Tie - everything Black and White
The Wonderful World of Disney
The Great Outdoors - anything to do with nature
Groovy Theme - anything 1970's
Rock and Roll - anything to do with music

If you all are good with these, I can throw them in a hat and assign them to each group.

Here is the list of competitors and the groups so you can see who you will be competing against.

If anyone else wants to join in, please let me know and I'll add you to the group.

The rules for the monthly TD's apply to the ultimate SMACKDOWN, except that you will be competing against several people in your category. The rules are in the Contest Forum.

Hi Trixyinaz: Thank you for the list and themes!!!!!

Shirl/Tiptop57
Loser
Intermediate

My personal preference is Vintage - 1920's theme - Flappers, Gangsters, etc.

If I have to do a Super Bowl Theme - then I will seriously consider hanging myself first!

So my thought is to get together with my group, Tina/Cocorum21, Lea/TeaKakes, Jennifer/Kansaswolf, and K2Cakes for their input.

Gang - Your thoughts please.......
