okay I am at my wits end with this one. I am hoping at someone in the wonderful world of cc can help me find a long lost recipe that I have made in the past. I have been all over the web and have come up empty handed. Here's the details - The recipe was in a magazine, probably in ladies home journal, family circle or good housekeeping type. It was probably in a November/December xmas issue from between 1990 and 1998 as I made it early in my marriage. It is a thinly layered yule log cake that resembles a baumkuchen (tree cake) and I think that is what the article called it. However it is shaped like a log, not like the traditional baumkuchen that is made on a spit. The other details I have are...it uses 12 eggs, coffee, chocolate (dont know the other ingredients) and you broil the cake in thin layers, spread the layers with chocolate/coffee mixture and then roll it. It is a very rich cake that you slice in 1/2 inch slices and serve with whipped cream. It's crazy that I can remember all these details and I can not replicate the darned thing. Any help that anyone can give me would truly be appreciated!

Gosh, that sure is a puzzle! Have you emailed to Good Housekeeping and/or Ladies' Home Journal? That might be successful for you. I've done that before to a magazine and they are able to use their own internal search engine and popped the recipe right up!
