I saw a cookie, maybe even a cupcake, by Sugarshack (I think) and thought I put in my favorites. Does anyone know where to find the picture? It's just the snowman's face with a teal colored hat and scarf, pink cheeks. Thanks in advance for any help!
these are so much fun to make!!! Soooo cute. I did them with vanilla wafer cookies for my daughter's preschool last year and the kids and parents went crazy and mine weren't anywhere near as cute as Sharon's. I just bought some pecan sandies tonight to make some more too!!

Has anyone ever frozen these, or do you think they would be ok in the freezer. I'm using a sugar cookie and candy melts to dip them in. Like an idiot, I bought cookies today to make these with and then remember that the party isn't until Thursday of NEXT week, not this week. Gah!

Does anybody know if Wilton Shimmer Dust is the same as petal dust? I did not have time to order petal dust so I just bought some shimmer dust from Joann's. The chocolate was hardened when I tried to apply it, but it did not stick at all. I wound up having to mix the dust with vodka and paint it on, but it is too bright that way. Was the dust supposed to be added while the chocolate was still a bit tacky? (Not sure how that would work well though.)

OK, I figured this out. Posting in case anyone else was wondering like I did.
I went to another store and found Wilton Pearl Dust. This worked perfectly. I did not have to mix it with vodka and it stuck to the chocolate nicely.
My daughter is having so much fun making these!

What cookie did you use in the picture from the link above Sharon? You have amazing talent BTW!!
I find that the Wilton pearl dust doesn't work as well as luster dust. I've even done a test to see which is better and luster dust has far better coverage than the Wilton. If you just want to blush the cheeks like on Sharon's snowman and all you have is the Wilton stuff, it works fine. I did it on the snowman sugar cookies faces in my photos. Good luck, those cookies are adorable.
here is how i did them:
keebler shortbread or pecan sandy cookies
dip in white choc and dry
dip in the blue choc, pipe the blue line for brim of hat and sprinkle on the sugar and dry
pipe face and holly with royal
a little petal dust for cheeks
thats it!
I used royal to decorate the tops after I dipped in chocolate. It worked fine except some of the dots (for the eyes) did fall off after a couple of days. Just a little note if you don't want to melt all those different colored choc. melts and you have royal left over.
