I have a small store that wants to sell my chocolate chip and peanutbutter cookies. They have to be packages for individual sales. I know I need to put the ingreideant lable and such on them. I know how to make the labels.

But how do I package each cookie? What type of bag should I use and should they be heat sealed?

Where to purchase bags and heat sealer.

Also, any info on Whole sale pricing whould be apprecitated.

I just went to the Bakery show in atlantic city and there was a great company selling all kinds og bags and boxes. They are not expensive and they customize boxes and bags. I can't find where the stuff went (my office flooded over the weekend) but you can look them up. The UNGER company 216-252-1400

1000 bags for $10.00 plus shiping of course. you can seal the bag with a stepler (sorry don't know how to spell it) and a piece of paper they look nice in that way

you might be able to do a google search for "bag topper templates" or something like that" and staple it to the top of the bag and you would be able to type the ingredients on the back of the "topper" to avoid putting a lable on the bag itself. the lable would make it a little more attractive and it wont take away from the yummy looking cookie. just an idea

As misabel99 says, Uline is a really good place to get poly bags. They have alot of different sizes and mil. They also sell impulse sealers and they are great, a little pricey, but worth their weight in gold if you do alot of cookies. Customer service is top notch.

I got a great deal on an impulse sealer on ebay. I would recommend poly or cello bags. Definitely heat sealed. Bag toppers are a good idea and give a nice finish, but IMO, I would never use staples around food. I use a scrapbooking glue runner on mine.

hmmm....i didnt think about the staple around food thing together ... i normaly just go with ribbon and add a tag to it. but thought the bag topper was a good idea. how about heat sealing the bag and add the topper with glue dots or something like that ? maybe that would work better than staples?

I would put the label on the back of your package.

Silvercat, that is what I usually do. I use regular white address labels slicked up with some clipart and the info I need. I peel them off and put them on the empty bag, bottom, back side, then put the cookie in and seal. I usually use a 4x6 bag, if there is too much on the top, I cut it off. It is not as fancy as a bag topper, but it does make a nice presentation.

Tip: the labels stick even if you freeze the cookies

We buy our products from CK South, the southern division of CK. The retail shop is Country Kitchen Sweetarts.

We buy the plastic bags for chocolates and put cookies in them.

We also bought the heat sealer. I think it wholesales for around $125. BEST investment to date!

We then put our computer-label labels right on the bag on one side and people can see the cookie on the other.

If you sell the cookies to a store how long do they suppose to last?
