Okay, so I have told myself twice now that I am NOT doing any more cakes for September because I have to get my house in order for my grandmother's visit on the 16th-23rd. Well, I accepted one other SpongeBob cake which I have already done but didn't post because it looks just like the first one I did and NOW I just accepted an order from someone who had some of the leftover SpongeBob cake that I just did. She wants a longboard i.e. skateboard cake!!!!!! First off I DON'T CARVE or model !!!!! But I just couldn't turn down the opportunity to make a few extra $$ because we are a bit strapped right now. The client is bringing me the board and wheels she wants me to put the cake on. Should be interesting as she is bringing it to me tonight. She must already have something made up or it's going to be the actual board. Not sure!
I am really hesistant with this whole order. I don't really have the time and I told her I will have to charge her $70 and she just now sent me a text msg back saying she will call me on her lunch. My guess is she has a problem with the cost of the cake. Hey, if it's too expensive for her then I won't do it.!!!
Am I crazy for doing this cake?!?!!

Nothing like getting out of your comfort zone. May be the price will be your out.
Sounds like she has a specific idea of how she wants the cake to look so get all the details you can out of her. Did she see a picture of what she wants?

No your not crazy... Baking and decorating takes time and money... If you feel this price is reasonable then stick with it! Don't settle for less or your customers will expect you to do it all the time... The grocery stores wouldn't do a cake like this... Don't stress... 
You said it Candes! Totally out of my comfort zone! I am someone who is pretty content not coloring outside the lines! She hasn't called me yet. I kind of do hope she is taken back by the cost. I really don't want to do it but I hate to say no considering I was recommended to her. Would be pretty horrible to say "no" to the first customer that my last one recommended me to.
Yes, she sent me pic txt to my phone as to what the skateboard is to look like. Should be interesting. Pretty boring plain design! Guess I should be happy about that. Oh did I mention that she wants a carrot cake with CC filling/frosting!
Now about my house. My downstairs is pretty much set. Now it's on to the guest room which is a bit of a storage room at the moment. 
I need a good does of caffeine to get me through that project!

huh, as for your question....nope! I told myself I wasn't going to take any orders this week. but you know me - I took it. She hasn't confirmed yet, so who knows if I'll even end up doing it.
