I've done much bigger total orders, but I must admit, I am pretty jazzed. We booked a $4400 cake today for an NFL player and his young bride for February.
Congratulations! This is really exciting.
Don't forget to post pictures. It must be a fantastic cake.

Gah!!!!!!!!! Is it trimmed in diamonds?? I am SO jealous!! Of you for getting the order, and them for getting the cake!!
GO YOU, GO YOU!! You ROCK!!
It is cake for 400, so it's a biiiiiiig cake. We are making a cake very similar in shape to the Southern Bride and Groom cake in my pictures, but it will be dogwoods on a carolina blue background with the center support being sculpted like a Dogwood tree.
Oooohhh....I can't wait to see it - sounds like it will be beautiful!!! That's awesome for you!
HOLY COW! I wish I lived in an area where people would pay that much for cakes. Congrats
Congratulations! How Fabulous For You!
Question -
What shade of blue is carolina blue?
Theresa
Carolina blue is the color of the University of North Carolina. It's a light blue but kind of greyer...You have to get it right, or it's not Carolina blue (As my husband has told me many times when I have to do something in that color.)
Congratulations! How Fabulous For You!

Most of my friends here in Chapel Hill will claim any pale blue as " Carolina Blue", but it is the color of the " southern part of heaven"

Any shade of pale blue as long as it does not approximate the devil's blue, right?
(Did you hear about the sky diving mixup yesterday????

Of course, I'll be racking my brain to figure out who's getting married.

Thought it was hilarious. I guess I should be grateful they missed by the whole eight miles. If they were close, they could've landed smack dab on the top of my shop.
wait a minute......is that cake $11/serving?? oh man....and I charge $2.00/serv. I really need to move!

Come about an hour west Tina! Or make some of them come up off their money - there is some money there!
TXKat - congratulations! That is awesome. Your cakes are beautiful!

Tell me about it. My guts just churn with envy when I read about people who are able to ask those prices, and are still competitive. Then again, I'm sure it costs more around there. (Hey, that's the explanation that lets me sleep at night, so please let me believe it!)
