I'm in on this recipe. I will be baking them tomorrow to take to my annual Daylily club picnic. I tried cupcakes last year, but got too fancy with poured fondant and white rose and only one person tried them. Maybe these will go better.

Hey GrandmaG this sounds like a lot of fun. I do have to agree with Theresa that maybe making a monthly thing of it would be good or even two weeks. Another suggestions would be letting people post other recipes using the "chosen" ingredient (carrots for this time) so that each thread would be a treasure chest of that certain type of cupcake.

Just some suggestions for an already great idea!!!! It would be a little like Cupcake Hero, where you can click on a specific ingredient and come up with all these fabulous recipes that are favorites of the contributors, plus all the comments to boot.

For us "old" people, one week goes past awful fast these days!!!!!!!

Thanks Lily for the suggestions. If you want to start a new thread like cupcake heroe's I think it would be good to start a different thread. I think that would be a lot of fun too. We have talked about this CCCC a lot on the big cupcake thread and put a lot of thought into it and the first post I made is what we would like to go with. The next submitter has accepted and I can't wait to see what they come up with in a week! If it's hard to make the cupcakes every week for some of you then at least we might have some fantastic recipes to make for the future. icon_smile.gif

Sounds like a great idea and I cant wait to get started. My only personal issue is who am I going to give all these cupcakes too? Im doing Weight Watchers and have lost 25 lbs so far...guess the kids schools and teachers are going to know who I am real fast..lol

I wasn't suggesting another thread, Grandma, just tossing out an idea. The one you have stared sounds great. Just wishing I wasn't so darn old that I will have trouble keeping up, plus don't have enough places to get rid of all those delicious cc. One minute I am dieting and the next I am trying to keep from eating that yummy dozen cc's that I just made.
It's just a vicious cycle!!!!!!

icon_lol.gif Thanks heavens for my husbands crew! Those guys love me at his work !
They told my hubby today that its pretty bad when they are on their way to work and whats on their mind is what kind of dessert I might be sending in that day ! icon_lol.gif
I make them all say what they liked the best to !
And they are very sweet they now order all of their family special event cakes from me to! icon_biggrin.gif

I agree that it would be a ton of fun to start a new thread for the ingredient of the month type of thing!! For example, you pick carrots and everyone submits their best recipes for that!! If someone does that, please send me a link, I'd love to do it too.

But GrandmaG is right... there was a lot of thought put into it, and if I may be so bold, I think the way she's got it going right now will be awesome!! As we go, if things need to change, we can be flexible, right? It's like a living thing... it will morph as needed to grow and stay alive!

The only thing I will ask is... can we do it for 2 weeks instead of just one?? Like it was mentioned, one week goes so quickly... I'd love it if we could give it just a little more time!! I'll totally leave that up to you as creator of the idea GG... but I hope we can do that for everyone's sake!!

And yes, this thread will always be in the cupcake forum... since it's all about cuppies!! (Yay for cuppies!)

I can't wait to try these... they sound so good, and such a perfect flavor for the coming fall orders!!! WOOOOO!!

Yeah, that's fine with me, I just wanted to throw some suggestions out there. Use them, don't use them, not a problem for me either way. I just didn't want to see the idea go the way of the DoDo, like the throwdowns did. As long as the idea is allowed to evolve as needed, right?

Oh, absolutely Theresa! We can all make suggestions and discuss, etc.

The fun part about this is that it's going to be handed off to a new person each time, so no one person is 'responsible' for doing the hard part, and that person doesn't get sick and tired of it!! Each time will be a fresh perspective! I can't wait until someone (hopefully) picks me!

(Oooh, oooh, pick me, pick me!! *waving arm in the air like Horshack*) icon_lol.gif

I agree to keep it loose here!
Every 2 weeks would better for some of us that work outside our homes and maybe can't catch up every day. So if by chance we can only catch up on weekends we can still get in on the recipe and have time to make and experiment if we want.
Great going! First recipe sounds intriguing!

Some suggestions on where to take your cupcakes. I take mine to the hairdresser, the bank, husbands work, dentist, eye doctor, neighbors, family. I don't find it a waste because I end up getting orders by doing so.
The first recipe will just be a week. The next submitter can decide what they want to do. She'll post her recipe on the 29th. I guess I'm just tired. icon_confused.gif

FYI, my carrot cupcakes are in the oven. They will make more than 24. I filled 27 liners and some are going over the edge. I probably filled mine 3/4 instead of 2/3rds. They smell wonderful though. Just the smell is worth baking these! icon_smile.gif
I'm also making cinnamon cucumber pickles so the smell in this house is incredible.
