I don't know but I will give you a bump.
Could you try on a small amount and see what happens?

You should use gels that are made for coloring candy. Wilton makes some available at Michael's or Hobby Lobby. The cake supply store near me has a base type thing that you can add to your candy so that you can use any regular gel to color.

Good luck,

I have used VERY SMALL amounts of gel color with success. But there is candy color, which is recommended. I tried to do black and it was just too much color, siezed up!

I was told with the candy melts you need to use the candy colors. If you use regular gel color it will cause the candy melts to seize. You could always melt just a small amount, add some color and see what happens! Good luck with your project!

You either can use powdered candy color or the oil based colors that are available at Michael's and other stores in the Cake/Candy sections.

Water is a no-no with chocolate, it ruins it. So if you try regular coloring, it creates a mess with your chocolate.

good luck.

Like the other reply said, NEVER add water to chocolate, or water based colour! or flavouring! you will get cement!! OIL ONLY! It will harden right up! and will not soften back up! The best way to add colour is to use the candy colouring with white wafers, or use the coloured candy melts. I melt a few coloured wafers and add them to white ones to make more and save on the coloured ones.
And painting the mould before you put in the milk or white choc is the best way to colour a mould.
Yes I am talking about a candy MOLD! In canada its a mould! LOL!
