I had a so called friend who asked me to do a cake for her for $10. My use to be friend is the bigger version of Kimora Lee Simmons and if you never seen her show before it means she's a bit*h. This ex friend will say whatever comes to her mind, doesn't think before she speaks, and will embarrass any of her friends. I tried to accept her personality but after the cake incident I dropped her like a big person drops all that weight and looks skinnier.

She wanted me to make a boxed strawberry cake with a can of cream cheese icing. The problem is a reg. can of icing is only good enough to cover the cake itsself. She wanted all these decorations with fondant. She wanted the fondant red and I told her I had a prob. getting it to be blood red instead it came out looking like a dark pink. I specifically told her that I didn't have enough icing for the balls that I had to use fondant. I told her the bottom that she wanted was fondant but its not gonna look right let me use reg. icing but no she insisted use fondant. You all can look at my website and I feel like I am good for a beg. but I'll never claim I'm a true prof. because I'm not. And to be quite honest I think I didn't put my all into the cake because I felt used. Wow whats $10? like she was doing me a favor. She need to do her self a favor and exercise.

So she gets the cake and at the party she blasts me in front of everyone saying the cake is ugly. Talking about I can do a better job than you. Sayin I wouldn't even reccommend you. I told her like her friends would order from me any way. If she felt that way she should've made it. First of all yes I'm a culinary student not a baking and pastry student there's a difference. I never ever claimed I was a prof. but for a beg. I do da*n good job and yes there are things like writing I can work on but don't try and tell me what I can't do. Her friend was saying if I was you I would've cried and my thing is for what? who is she suppose to be and I told her that her opinion does not and I litterally mean it doesn't mean anything to me. She's just mad because her major is photography and she can't get any customers and I see why. I know plenty of photographers who don't have a degree but making great money.

I told her don't call me, lose my number because so called friends don't do that to each other. I think there's a big difference between constructive criticism and trying to embarrass a person in front of people. People who treat you like dirt you do not need them in your life. As far as I'm concerned she's dead to me. I will not put up with being disrespected from anybody. Fake Kimora Lee Simmons wanna be.

You must feel like a ton of weight is off your shoulders! Brush that off, you don't need her. I saw your cakes too, never charge 10$ again, you're better than that icon_smile.gif

Sounds like you got it figured out already.
Sounds like the money you lost on the cake was well worth getting to know who she really was and for her to be out of your life.

Ok..I'll bite. Why $10.00? Was that the cost of ingrediants and supplies?

Well she's only a FAKE Kimora... Kimora might be a B*%*ch but she's no penny pincher. Why do you put up with this nut case ? You are probably better off without a friend who takes advantage of you. icon_confused.gif

Consider yourself lucky to be rid of that NUT!!!. Sorry though that happened to you, but you are wayyyyyyyy better than me. She would've been wearing that $10 cake at her own party icon_evil.gif OOPS did I say that? icon_redface.gif

You know what I call those people....ATTENTION WH tapedshut.gif RES!

When you do that..it is easy to not get too upset. I don't have as many friends as I did when I was younger because of the AWs.

Which is a good thing. thumbs_up.gif

Word of caution... I checked your website, and your e-mail address is the same as your screen name. This will show up if someone googles you. Do you want customers seeing threads like this?

But yes, $10 is much too cheap. For $10, I'd have given her 2 cupcakes. icon_smile.gif

Is she bigger than KIMORA in body size ??

Because KIMORA's got class and money, and KIMORA is a very sucessful business woman. Does your friend posses any of these ? icon_cool.gif

When she said she could've done better I would have said, Yeah I could've to but $10 gave me absolutely nothing to work with, next time don't be so cheap & you won't get cheap. Not saying it looked cheap, but to lead her to think she got what she paid for. Don't know. I think for getting $10 I would have thrown some extra salt in there. Yes, I know it's mean. Never! Can I scream that loud enough, do a $10 cake. If she ever asks again tell her your min. order is $50.

When I first started posting in this forum, I didn't even consider people finding me here via google... now I know better. And considering that her post is about as far from professional as you can get... well, surely you can see my point. icon_biggrin.gif

Lol I didn't know about the googling. I don't think CC will let me change my username. Maybe I'll have to remake a new account and close this one. I did it for $10 b/c I was being nice and she asked as a friend but I learned my lesson. I say she's like Kimora because she asian and black like her and yes she's like 10 Kimora's wrapped in one. If you ever met her you'd think you were talking to the real Kimora. She doesn't have money like her at all but its amazing how she can manipulate a guy into giving her money and buying Marc Jacob bags. I think the only reason why she has friends and they put up with her is b/c from the ones I met I can tell they have low self esteem and can't stand up for their selves like their scared. Not me I'm done, she's not worth it. I was fine before I met her and I'm fine now.

When I first came to this site I didn't know about the google thing either, so I think it's good for this to come up every now and again! Thanks, Brandi!

I believe it is possible to change your username in "My Accout" to the left of the screen. Try under "My forum info".

Now, back to the topic.....I would give her every bit of that $10 back and tell her to go buy a new friend!

How does this person keep enough friends to have a party? She sounds like a beast! I'm sorry this happened to you. You're probably better off now. I'd chalk this one up to "you live, you learn" and forget about it. No sense in letting this person eat at you for weeks ahead. Let it go and don't give her another thought.

i won't flog you, i'll agree with you. maybe the canned icing was this biotch's idea (she has no class, so she'd have no idea what really good icing doesn't come from a plastic can -- and before y'all flog me i am NOT putting down anyone who uses canned icing!!)

as for people with money not always having class.. there are MANY instances of that right here in this very thread... most recognizable would be the story of brider, her golf cake and the "rich" woman who's party for her hubby was ruined (probably b/c SHE had TOO much to drink and knocked the cake over herself LOL)

now... on a side note... your cakes a good, don't charge less than what your talents are worth again, for ANYONE

No I don't use canned icing because I learned that canned icing is for ppl who don't know what they're doing. She asked 4 it and I didn't mind b/c I didn't want to spend money buying things to make the icing 4rm scratch, only to get $10. But it was her idea not mine.

BrandisBaked, You are absolutely correct. It has to go through Jackie or Heath. It's not difficult, though, I've had mine changed since I've been a member here.

Chef Shanita, I'm sorry you had to go through this. I've had a "friend" similar to her in the past. My kids were friends with her kids and her kids treated mine just as horribly as she treats others. We put up with them for about 4 years and I finally had all I could take from them, so we ended up breaking all ties with them, I had our phone number changed to an unlisted number and we haven't talked in years. I genuinely try to treat others in a good Christian manner, but I am human and have my limitations. If it's meant for you to be friends with her, maybe she will come to her senses and finally change, but if not, you're better off without that kind of stress.

Since you were more than willing to do this for her since she is your "friend", then why did you consider this as a Dilemma ?? icon_confused.gif isn't a Dilemma like a problem ?
