Hi,
Im planning on making a tent cake. Approximate dimensions are as follows:
It will be a 3d tent, so shaped as a long triangle.
8" long, 5" at bottom of tent, peak will be 4" high.
How many servings do you think I could get from this. Customer is only wanting 12 servings. Would this size tent be enough? Im having a hard time figuring this out.
Thanks!
math (grrr) method.
area of triangle is 1/2 x base x height
so that's 1/2 x 5 x 4 = 10 sq. in.
now x length ( 8in ) = 80 cubic inch.
standard Wilton size party serving is
2x2x2 = 8 cubic inches.
80 / 8 = 10 servings.
make it 2 inch longer -- 10 in
then get 100 cubic inches / 8 = 12.5 servings.
cut it by splitting length wise along ridge
then cut each side into 6 pieces
