So I had a great tasting today with a bride and groom who promptly gave me a deposit and are losing their deposit with their previously booked bakery all because I am willing to make them an edible Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots bride and groom cake topper They are soooo excited (so am I)!

So here is a pic of the cake - it will coordinate with the invitations and will be all in off-white fondant with the scroll design STAMPED into the side of the cake and the stringwork done in off white fondant with my clay gun - so it will be monochromatic (not with the color shown), we may not even do the brown ribbon, but it seemed too plain without it, since the only colors will be the robots.

So here is the BIG QUESTION.....

How can I take the invite I scanned in and create a stamp from that design?

Also, any thoughts on the robots? I'm thinking I will have to buy my sons the toy so I can copy it (bonus for them!) but I even have thoughts of somehow making a mold out of the robots. I guess I have to buy the toy to see if that can be done.

I have until September 5th - would any of you make the robots now?

I don't know about the stamping, but you could have a custom chocolate transfer made, although they usually only do large orders. I made some robots of the Rodney and Fender characters from the Robots movie. I just made every piece separately and kept them together with pasta and vodka.

The chocolate transfer would be cool - but she just wants the design embossed, no color.

what about making a stencil instead of a stamp?

however, if you absolutely want it to be a stamp, visit shop where they sell rubber stamps. they often have materials for making your own stamps, using silicon, instead of rubber and they can give you tips/suggestions on the easiest way to get your design made into a stamp.

You can make a stamp by piping the design in royal icing or color flow on a piece of foamcore or clear acrylic (you can buy different sizes of that in the scrapbooking department of Joann's or Michael's). Let it dry really well and then just stamp with it.
