So I just got a Kitchenaid mixer. Yes, I know, I have been in the stoneages. Well, actually more like the 70's using my grandmother's old Sunbeam, but it finally went kapoot. I mean seriously, the only speeds I had were on and off...lol.

Today I went to Sears to find a Kitchenaid and what do ya know they had one on clearance for $130!!! I brought that puppy home and put it to work. I have to say I looove it already!!! icon_biggrin.gif

that's awesome!!! Congrats!!

I remember I got mine for my bday - kind-of. I got cash and at the time I worked at this outlet retail store and one came in 'slightly' damaged, so I ended up getting it for like $130 as well - AND it had two bowls!

What are you naming her/him? Congrats!

I have 2. A cream one named Bessie (had her for 11 years now and she's perfect.) Then I have a cobalt one named Ol' Blue. I've had him for almost a year now. He's a young buck and can hold more than Bessie but I think I still prefer my girl.

ok, now back to planet reality for me.

That's so funny I named mine too... It's a red one so I named it Big Red! Congrats!!! I love mine. You'll use it all the time. I use mine every day. And if you ever have a problem (I've only had one small one in 4 years) the customer service people are super nice. You can call them with any questions.

Courtney -

That's what I named mine, too! And I put flames on mine (ala Alton Brown) which I bought at Pep Boys. I figured if auto decals can survive a car wash, they can stand up to kitchen cleaning.

It inherited the name from me. That was my nickname in a bar I occasionally hovered in for a couple of years.

Congrats, I know the feeling - I just got my metallic onyx last weekend. A 600 PLUS PRO which holds up to like 14 cups of batter. I used a sunbeam before as well.... icon_biggrin.gif . I got it at Kohls for $318.00 and they had the Kohls cash so I got $60.00 coupon to spend at Kohls. So deduct that $60.00 from the Price. I got a very good deal. I am in love. I named it "Precious"

Sunbeam! That's what I used before I got my first KA! It was my mother's, and it finally died after over 50 years and only one service call ever.

I would like another one, but I'm trying to find a refurb. I looked at the new ones, and they're just not the same. I had the sales person plug one in for me, and they just don't seem to have the oomph. Maybe it's the lighter weight or quieter motor, but they just don't seem the same to me.
