Description for cake entry #1

Blue fondant tiers with white fondant lace appliques with blue fondant ribbon, blue fondant covered board, blue fondant bow,white fondant pearl border and blue fondant birds. Gumpaste planter with gumpaste orchids, irises, feathers, lilies and calla lilies, and white ribbons. Silver dragees on the lace appliques.

Description for cake entry # 2

These ribbons and lace themed two - tiered pound cakes are covered in white fondant with pink gp carnations, yellow, pink and lightly brushed lilac colored roses, white plunger flowers, pulled lilac colored flowers, and yellow fantasy filler flowers, along with rose leaves, ferns and gp ribbons. Both have fondant ribbon inserts with bows, RI lace butterflies and lace pints along with detailed extension work with "poor mans" lace on the bottom to finish.

Wow, it is extremely difficult to choose between these 2 beautiful cakes. Great job!!

There should be a third polling option for tied. These are both remarkable cakes. Each has it's own flare and style - very hard to choose a favorite because they are both beautiful!

OMG...how can you possibly choose between these two beauties!!! They are both so gorgeous and what incredible talent!!. The amazing and such fun thing about a TD is to see how two people will interpret the same theme in such different ways!!!

Wow! Those are both so pretty! Can I vote for both?

Both of these women really outdid themselves. Each cake is so beautiful. I LOVE those birds -- have never seen anything like them. The stringwork and ribbon insertion is also gorgeous. Very difficult decision. Congratulations to you both!
