Just thought this would make a nice cake for a bar-b-que...any ideas?

If alcohol isn't a no-no for your bbq, I would just do a sponge cake soaked with a simple syrup flavored with sweet & sour apple schnapps, kind of like a baba au rhum. Serve with fresh whipped cream. Yum!
