How To Make Fondant Baby's Breath?
Decorating By whittydoodle Updated 24 Jan 2012 , 4:11am by SkylaJayne
I have tried and tried and tried to make babys breath and I can't get them right. Does anyone have any helpful hints or tricks to make them easier? Mine always fall off the wire or the wire sticks out in the middle and they end up falling down the stem! I am starting to get frustrated. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks!
The Wilton 'Beautiful GP Flowers' book shows the wires with a tiny hook at the end and the babies breath petals folded in half first (after softening with the ball tool) then the hook placed on the folded petal as you fold one side of the petal then the other around the hook (using water or 'glue').
HTH's!
Difficult to describe sorry!
If you want I can scan and email the pic + instructions from the book, I don't wanna post it as prolly get in trouble!
Have you added any liquid to the wire? You can use the Tylose/water glue or even just a dab of plain water might work.
When I've made them I've had to overlap them just a little, and pinch closed at the bottom.
Hope that helps!
Just came across this from google, for anyone else that ends up here I found a good tutorial on how to make baby's breath flowers.
