that is so cool! I can't wait to see the pics. Make sure that Disney is cool with the use of Tinkerbell. They can be really mean about it. I'm sure everything will be great. I'm so happy for you.

About the copyright issue, you can always buy an edible image, that way you have paid for the right to use it.
Wow, what an awesome opportunity! Congrats!

Here is a tink cake I did last year:

http://www.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=535053

You could probably do it fancier, I don't know...but I used a decopac topper and did the rest of the cake how I wanted. There wasn't any copyrite problem there. You can actually get some really fancy ones from disney instead of using decopac...

Congrats on the celebrity cake and good luck. icon_biggrin.gif My prayers are with your brother as well.

Well what I'm going to do is either buy or make. Most likely make a topper. But I will not charge for that. It's my "gift" to the birthday girl. Then I'm going to make a cake. Not a "Tinkerbell" cake. Just a cake. I will then have them put the topper on the cake.

Now I didn't make it a Tinkerbell cake they did. I didn't charge for anything Disney that way.

I will be sure to take a photo of them putting my little Tinkerbell gift on the cake.

Should be ok that way don't you think.

The only reason I'm thrilled is it is a good name to put on my resume not that he is a star. Just lots of people with money to maybe be future customers.

Here is a site that you can get permission : http://www.copyright.com/ccc/viewPage.do?pageCode=i13&WT.srch=1&WT.mc_id=google_ew

I just read an article about copyrighting and it said that if you make it look exactly like tinkerbell, they will sue, (they tried to sue a guy for making baloon figurines of tinkerbell for sick kids at a hospital) even if it is a gift they may still try to sue -- (the baloons were a gift - they did not get away with it but still they tried)

Here is an idea for a cake:

you could do a two part cake, the first would be a small cake maybe a large cupcake decorated to look like a flower, with tinker bell sitting on top of the flower with her hand out blowing "pixie dust" on to the big cake then you could have sparkly butterflys coming out of the cake (like she made them fly with her "pixie dust", or if you could make a figurine looking like the little girl she could be flying) if you wanted Tink higher than the cake you could get a pillar and put the cupcake on top and have her blowing it down on to the cake....

___ (tink on top of cupcake)
- ___ (flying little girl)
- (Pillar) _____ (cake)
- ________ (cake)
__________ (cake)

Sorry such a crude sketch (I am not at home to do something better for you)

then inbetween the "tink cupcake" and the cake you could do gras and flowers butterflys etc.

with "pixie dust" all over the place (On the cake I would start hevy and then spread the pixie dust out)

I hope this makes sense ... I see it in my head but I'm afraid I am not relying it well

Congratulations and Good luck!
I'm praying for your brother

Congratulations! I did a Tink cake in January for 120 people for a 7th bday party. I used the Wilton Paisley Pan set And decorated each tier with buttercream grass and flowers. On the top was the Tinkerbell by Decopac - she's suspended over a large pink flower and best of all, becomes a backpack clip so that the birthday girl can keep it afterwards.
