Is this the new mixer that has the timer on it? I don't know anything about the Cuisinart mixer but my mom told me about the timer on it and that is just brilliant! I love my KA but have always said it would be perfect with a timer.

yes it has a timer. i have a kitchen aid but it keeps overheating even after i got a new one. so my dh decided it was time for a new one so i dont burn down the house. I am so excited not only does it have a timer but it has 12 speeds and when you choose a speed it starts out gradually and works its way up to that speed.

My KA does the same thing - I was cleaning it last night and I thought I was going to burn my finger on the metal attachment cover - it made two large batches of icing and it got SO hot! I hope you LOVE the new mixer. You'll have to keep CC posted on how great it is! thumbs_up.gif

I have the 7 Qt, 1000 Watt Cuisinart and LOVE IT!!! icon_biggrin.gif I have used that thing more than I ever thought... The timer is great. You can start it and do something else without worrying. You're gonna love it. Now...I want the Pasta attachment of gumpaste....lol icon_wink.gif

my KA Pro 5 has been leaking oil and is louder than an airplane! I've been thinking about getting a new mixer, but def. want to consider something other than KA. How do you guys like the cuisinart? Is it loud? Any problems with it?
