Ok fellow CCâers I have just received everything I need to start making cakes using editable imagining I now have an EPSON CX8400 and my ink and sugar sheets arrived today. Does anyone have any advice or any good pointers before I get started I do have a lot of questions but I really would like to hear from everyone who have worked with this equipment and hear all the doâs and donâts

Hi Molley2, I have the Cannon printer from Amazon so I don't know about Epson! I do love doing the images tho. I have put them on cookies and cakes and also did some for my daughter to put on cakes. It is just toooo easy! I have been "looking for something" to put a image on! Just a hobby for me! Oh if you have a Sams' near you they will sell the rectangle size sheets and are reasonable and no shipping! HTH

I have the same printer ! LOVE IT ! I havent had any problems at all ! I have only had it for about 2 months but so far so good ! The only thing I can think of is make sure the icing sheet is in straight. And it will also say your not using Epson ink cartriages show an error.. but just ignore that and keep going ! Im very Happy with Mine ! I have a few cakes with EI,s in my pic,s if you want to take a peak !

Sam's really? If you guys don't mind me asking, how do you get the sheets at Sam's? I know they have like baking things, but I didn't think they had the sugar sheets.

Go to the bakery dept. at Sams and ask for them as they aren't on the shelves.

I called the Sams bakery before I needed them and the bakery mg. told me she would have them for me and its better to order ahead of time as she explained to me she has to order a minimum order from this company. The brand name on these are Lucks and that is the same brand I got from Icingimages.
Molly, I have already refilled my cartridges & it was so easy! Actually only one color was low but I did them all since I had them out! Another tip I have found out is if you have a very sharp-tip paring knife to run just under the edge of the image to get ya started lifting it helps.

Molly2.. Thanks for the comments ! No Im still working on how many Images I can get out of my Ink ! I havent emptied any yet ! Enjoy your printer , cant wait to see your creation,s ! Im still getting used to seeing all of the different ways you can use it ! Melvira has some nice creations in her pic,s !

How much are the icing sheets at Sam's?

I really don't know about Sam's but I do know here in the DFW Area their is a cake decorating supply store and they sale them for $3.95 a sheet. But I will go to sam's soon and find out.

WOW that would be expensive for one sheet. OK I found the price I paid at Sams in Birmingham.
The package is 24 sheets of the rectangle size for $26.72. Like I said before that is cheaper than having to pay shipping online. Also call to order them. You can use this size for the round cookies in the Kopykake prog. You just click the round circle size when you are going to load your image and it will print the large rounds or the smaller ones on the rectangle sheet. HTH

The place I'm talking about the cost is $3.95 a sheet blankl) if you want it printed it starts any where from $9.95 to $16.00 printed it depends on if the picture has to be cropped or any other things that hve to be done to it

Molly, that place is really making some money off blank sheets! I would never pay that, but its just a hobby for me! I like the Sams price best and I did order some rounds from Icingimages. I really like putting the iamges on cookies. I did some graduation cookies for my granddaughter that turned out really good. Just the cap and diploma on a 2 inch round and I cut them out of the rectangle sheet! Don't think I have posted that! I really have a hard time with making the pics!

It is alot of money I to only do this as a hobby but as of this morning hubby has conected everything up for me I now have my very own system I did buy one image from that cake supply place it is in my pics its the army cake with the madelin on top it cost me $10.00 but I made sure it was the excat size I wanted it before I let them do anything to it I didn't want to pay $16.00 for it. I really liked the image thats when I decide to put my money together and buy this system that why I strated this thread asking for advice

Most of my cake are made for my Nephew every year at the end of his brithday party he always tells me what he wants for his next years party this year I think will be my biggest cake he is a big Texas Longhorn Fan and request a Longhorn Theme Party and my brother being a UT Grad will They are expecting something really big I'm hopeing this imaging system will help with what I'm planning

hey guys, I went to my local sams club and they said I couldn't get the icing sheets because they don't have a number for a price. anyway, another question is how do you remove the icing sheet without tearing it. I've had problems with it stretching also. Any tips?

taresa, I would call & speak to the bakery manager! I had the same problem the first time I got Bettercreme, but they found it pretty quickly!

OK I have a question about the sugar sheets from kopykake I see where you get credits with their sheets but when those credits gone do I still need to order from kopykake or can I use the sheets from Samâs how does that work?

I still cant believe anyone would pay that much for one icing sheet !!! Thats crazy ! I get my sheets from kopykake, my Sams doesent have a bakery ! so I end up paying shipping but its still way cheaper then that price ! My (sort of) local cake supply store sells their Images for 7$ a sheet all sizes. and they still make money on them ! Im glad to have my own set up ! Its lots of fun !Molly2
The free desktop decorator wont work with sheets from Sams ! You need that code on the icing sheet pk to be able to use it ! though you shoud have recived 15 free prints right off ! HTH!
