Hey everybody! Check out google.com ! This is clearly an attempt to direct traffic onto that site and away from cake central. Because everyone knows you can only have one browser open!

That's crazy, I hope you still had a nice day anyways. That was a funfetti cake mix baked in pizza pans, iced with a butter knife. No support, I think maybe I used a bendy straw, don't remember.

Yes!   it can be so annoying sometimes!   He has told me that you can`t really enjoy food the same way once you go to cooking school.   It sounds horrible, LOL.

My 1st cake. Was supposed to be my children in their new pool but didn't have a clue about anything !!
The things in front are what my kids made from left over icing

Oh I know its atrocious lol. I accept it. Looking at it makes me proud because I made this cake right before I left for culinary school. It makes me happy to know that my family believed in me and how far I've come. As in now I can torte a build cakes and properly ice them and even make a decent wedding cake.

Whats up with the cake stairs? Are they stairs or just little plastic planks leading up to another cake?

Are they consider 'pretty'  or decorative somewhere?  Are they still considered that?

They are stairs, or at least my friend's were at her wedding in 2004. It was horrible. It is horrible and I hope to never see a cake like that again. I could not bring myself to say anything bad about the cake. She got it from Wal-Mart.

I don`t know the reason behind the fad but I remember seeing it a lot on bridal tv shows, people were going nuts for them.  Now I think (hope) they have fallen from fashion.

And I saw one on TV that had something mental like 12 bridges, and 24 little bridal party toppers, oh and some fountains...I can`t even remember how many cakes in total it had but it was a hilarious monstrosity.

I thought it was pretty good, for a car driving downhill...:o

Ok a bit blurry.   This was a lip gloss cakes that I layed 6 inch rounds side by side for rainbow inside.  I hated the ridges on the top - I wish I had recommended ganache instead of using buttercream..  My friend LOVED it, but it was not something I felt proud of.

So this is very embarrassing, but here goes... Thank God this was a practice cake.  Always loved the ruffle cakes so I decided to do this one all BC. So I did 2 tier cake; 8" & 6". The 6" tier had the Wilton's sugar sheet & the 8" did the BC ruffles....well what a mess.  The sugar sheet went on fine, but when I took the tier out to check it ( and it was quiet humid that day) the sugar sheet started to ripple..wasn't liking that.  Then add the BC ruffles using the #104, I knew I was in the hazard zone (noticed the rippling instead of the ruffling), because whatever I didn't do right showed right away so I started just to go with it, but as you can see I should have stopped ... live & learn.  As you professional bakers state all the time, practice, practice , practice.  I will be doing this again...any tips would be greatly appreciated.
