Does anyone know a website that has cheap wrapped cake drums? I use the plain corrugated with the gold foil top (for cheaper birtday cakes, etc)and the silver wrapped triple layer (for wedding cakes)? All the sites I've found seem high and I only have one local distributor (who's always out of stock).
I also think they are expensive. But as far as I can tell they are priced near the same all over.
CK South is cheaper than my regular supplier. It is nice to have them ready to go, but cheaper if you wrapped them yourself.

Sweet chef, what are you paying now for both? My supplier charges 55.85 for 200 10" gold boards, 1/4 sheets 44.00 per 100. Drums come packed in (6) 14" 12.95 16" 17.50 . This is just one supplier, I can check on some of my other suppliers if you would like. I am in Texas.
my 12" drums are $12.80/6pk
14" $17.05/6 pk
16" $23.05/6pk
10" $8.55/6 pk
from Merchants Bakery Supply In Dallas, Tx.
they are cheaper from CK South. But you have to show proof of a license.

Cupcake, I'd love the name of your supplier...they sound cheaper than mine! I just opened my store a few months ago, so I'm still trying to find some great suppliers! I was about to place my first order for boards and I do such small volume that I need to get a great price because the hundreds that come in some of the cases will last me forever. I'm also looking for corrugated boards and LOTS of cake pans. Maybe you could PM me some of your Texas suppliers.
I was going to use BakeMark, but they quoted me 61.99/200 ea for 10" gold, 46.60/100 ea for 12" gold, 33.90/50 ea for 1/4 sheet gold, and 30.70/25 ea for 1/2 sheet gold. I haven't found anyone locally to sell the silver wrapped drums, but one of my suppliers suggested the place in Dallas that mypastrychef says she uses (what a coincidence!). Other than that, I was think maybe DecoPac...but they seemed high too. If I could find the silver ones for a similar price to the thinner gold (but I guess that was just wishful thinking), I was going to switch all my cakes to them. I use the two diiferent kinds (thin gold and thick silver) now, and I just don't have room to store it all!
