I need to make a cake for a coworkers birthday next week. It is for our Director of Buildings & grounds. The girls in the office want a funny cake that has something to do with cesspools (or digging them up) as this has been a big problem for him lately. I know, gross, right? I saw a plunger cake on here that was really cool - but it's not large enough. It needs to feed about 20 people. Any thoughts?

Put the plunger atop a square cake?

How about putting the plunger cake on top of a 1/4 or 1/2 sheet cake. Cut the sheet cake into the shape of a puddle- all kinds of rounded odd shape edges-and color the icing a brownish green. You could even mix some things like nuts or small candies into your icing to give your "cesspool" a realistic look...ewww! icon_eek.gif

How about a sheet cake with a ditch across the top with tools and such.

How about the toilet cake with the plunger coming out of it?

What about the kitty litter cakes I have seen here and other sites? I am sure you could make it whatever size you needed.

You can make the plunger cake much larger.. all it would require would be a longer, bigger dowel stick from a hardware store (I'd wash the part going into the cake really well)... you could make the base of it with larger round pans than what I did with mine and then roll fondant around the handle ... just make it on a larger scale icon_smile.gif .. now to be really gross, you could roll white fondant really thin and make it like pieces of toilet tissue stuck to the plunger .. *ack* ... I'm grossing my ownself out lol icon_biggrin.gif

Did you see this one?? That's gross, LOL!!!

This link does't work for the right cake. This is supposed to be a toilet cake. Not sure what I did wrong on the link.

Try this one:

And if that doesn't work CakeQueen3 was the CC member who made the cake.

Nope, no mistake. It should be a link to a toilet cake someone here on cc posted. I think that would fit here in the request for a gross cake dealing with cesspools, don't you?

Oh, LOL, then I can see where you would have thought it was a mistake! Glad to hear your response, I was afraid I had offended you. It comes up as the toilet for me. Does it still come up as a teapot for you, KayDay? Maybe I did the link wrong.

HEHE...now it makes a LOT more sense! I was scratching my head on that teapot when it came up and trying to make the association! The toilet is a very good idea! icon_lol.gif

What if you do a sheet cake with a hole in the middle, surrounded by crushed oreos and put some grossly colored piping gel in the hole.... you can place a fondant shovel, and pick, as well as some dowel sticks with some yellow fuit strips around the hole. and if you really want to get down to, create a fondant outhouse and put it to the side of the hole.

THANKS for clearing that up KayDay!! I don't know what's wrong with the first link, I still see the toilet cake on both. Okay, now at least you can see what I was seeing and I am not crazy, LOL!! I think I would have to eat my piece off the tank and not from the bowl, LOL!! icon_surprised.gif I can't wait to see what beachcakes makes and find out if they actually eat it all, ROTF!! icon_lol.gif

Thanks guys! That toilet cake is really gross! I don't know if I can go through with this, LOL!
Debsue - you are very creative! DH said I should make a cesspool in the ground, too, with dirt & shovels.
These are some great ideas. Thank you all so much. I will post a picture when I make it.

I got the rubber duck cake and then the toliet cake.
If you decide to do the toliet cake thing, I have a suggestion that will totally gross you out! I made a toliet cake for my dad once. I put kernals of canned corn in the "poop"! I kept it in the fridge and the corn got a wrinkled effect! It looked soooo gross!
