making fondant look like houndstooth fabric?

Any suggestions on the best/easiets way to make fondant look like black/white " (sp?) houndstooth" fabric? thanks

Sorry, I don't know the answer to your question. But i'm curious: Are you making a Bear Bryant hat? I live in Alabama too. icon_biggrin.gif

The only thing I can think of is printing the pattern onto a frosting sheet, then applying to the fondant. I'm anxious to see what others have to say.

Maybe you should PM Melvira. Her Avatar looks like houndstooth fabric, so I'm sure she will have some suggestions!

You can print it in an edible paper and attach it..the chocolate transfers will work too..Is the fastest way to get the pattern without having to spend hours doing it by hand..Maybe others have more opinions..

I have seen the chocolate transfers with this pattern. I think it would be the fastest too. Or you could pipe the outline on glass or plastic, and then impress it onto the fondant and then paint the black. It's a bit time consuming though.

I use texture sheets on a sibgle coloured fondant...dont know how you could get black AND white...sorry
