How Did You Get/pronounce Your Screen Name
Decorating By Melvira Updated 7 Jul 2009 , 6:30am by JulyMama
My name is Hazel and I was born in 82. When I was little my older sister would call me Hazelina.
mine doesn't leave much to the imagination of how to say it.
As for how I came up with it? I wanted to name my daughter Shyann Autumn. Shy...from my first name Shyla, Ann...from my mothers middle name and I was taught how to bead by a very wonderful woman who was of the Cheyenne tribes.
If I had 2 daughters I wanted to call the second one Autumn. Autumn and Fall is my favorite time of year. It's when the land is filled with the most beautiful colors and I love eye candy.
As it is, I have only one daughter but we call her Chelsy, Spelled with a combo of letters from Hubby, son and I's names.
Maybe my g-daughter will be named ShyannAutumn. There's still hope...........wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy down the line in time.
This has been a fun and interesting thread to read. Funny too!
My screen name is pretty boring: it is my middle name and the first letter of my last name.
There are two ways i came about my nick
The boring one is that it is my favourite dessert
The better way is that I worked with a guy that always called me one of three names: Peaches, Shorty, and Cupcake. So I just shortened and combined them.
The first part of mine is my last name. The 29 is the day I was born on, but that number has always seem to show up: badge number (I used to be a rent-a-cop), serial number for my computer, dh's gun number (he's in the Army), and vehicle registrations. Weird, huh?
My neice came up with my screen name when she signed me up for AIM so we could 'chat.' I couldn't come up with anything she liked so I told her to pick a name. Since I was still in culinary school and she thought it was cool she picked cheftracy, tracy being my first name, chef being my occupation.
Pronounced "why-it" You know, like Wyatt Earp...
Nothing fancy...just my maiden name and darn proud of it...I'm the youngest of 10 kids, so EVERYONE knew the Wyatt's in my town back east...
And as for feeling old...I'm still very young at heart...looking at 47 this year...
Eme is gaelic for 'friend'... I pronounce it emmie, prob. not correct ...name of my favorite cat Don't tell my other kitty girls! They all think they're my favorite!
I'm 42 (my students shockingly tell me I look only 30 ) I think I act like I'm only 25...complete with all the 'foot in mouth' episodes all over again! Yeah, I never was real 'smooth-like' with the social interactions! I teach middle school science to 7th and 8th grade and have been voted most popular teacher for 3 of the last 4 years At least I'm popular somewhere!! ...hmmm, unless that is because of my tattoos...... I am updating my college classes and in 2 years - Hopefully! - I will be in vet school, my original goal. I have a 19 yo son and a 10 yo daughter, and my 2nd husband of 16 years.
I wanted mine to be my first name, Stacey, just so I could remember it. It was taken, so I added the initial of my last name (c) and how many kids I've got (3...well, actually two, but the third is due in August!)
Mine is a nickname: Blackberry then I had my son and he was lil berry and I was MamaBerry.
My given name is difficult for most people to pronounce. I blessed my son with a difficult to pronounce name too! LOL!
Mine is bambuf (bam buff) because I used to love Monty Python. They had this song called "I Like Traffic Lights"...In it, there was a line that said "I like traffic lights...although my name's not Bamber"..But, the song was sung in really monotone (and very British) accent and for the longest time I thought it said Bambuf. Silly me, if I had only listened to the next line... "I like Traffic Lights, but not when they are amber." Anyway, the name kind of stuck...
Mine is from the show The Big Comfy Couch, my middle dd used to love that show. One day I was trying to get a screen name and nothing was available of course so I tried that because she was watching it and it worked so it has stuck with me everywhere. It isn't the best name for a cake decorator though, makes me sound dirty lol.
Spudcake....I live in Idaho (famous potato state) and I love to decorate cakes.
Joanne
I just stumbled upon this thread yesterday and spent hours reading what everyone's name meant. The last post was over a year ago, and we have many new members (including me) since then. Would anyone care to join and tell what your screen name means?
Here's mine:
J-oel is DH
A-pril is me
M-organ is DD

Mine is Floophs...for whatever reason we hate using the word "fart" in our house. But ya gotta call it something, ya know. So shortly after my husband and I were married I "floophed" in bed and from then on he called me "floophs" or "floopher". I know, I know...TMI...
. . . thanx for resurrecting this thread . . . lots of fun . . . mine is easy to say . . . but also has lots of meaning behind it "for me" . . . my son and (now) daughter in law asked me to make their wedding cake . . . since I hadn't made a cake in almost 20 years (and those were just kiddie cakes for my son as he was growing up) . . . it seemed like a crazy request (but I didn't want to let them down, so I agreed) . . . they were going to be releasing butterflies as part of the ceremony (which took place in a beautiful garden) . . . so with butterflies on the brain I began searching the net for ideas on how/what to make for a cake . . . I found this site and needed a user name . . . butterflies aren't really "my thing" but dragonflies have had lots of meaning for me (when my dad passed there was one card that stood out among ALL the rest . . . it was, you guessed it, dragonfly related . . . that card touched me deeply . . . if I was ever to get a tatoo it would probably be a dragonfly) to me dragonflies represent transformation, adaptation and insight . . . and strength . . . hence DRAGONFLY . . . the DREAMS portion is pretty easy to figure out . . . I was "dreaming" of pulling it all together and being able to achieve what seemed like an impossible task at the time . . . I have dragonflydreams regularly . . . sometimes I am successful, other times they are just dreams (not yet realized?) . . . WAAAYYY TMI??!!!

Well, mine is pretty simple. My hubby calls me Betty Crocker and I am a Mommy so. .. ... bettycrockermommy or BCM for short,
When my husband and I divorced, it was a really hard time for me emotionally. A dear friend told me he knew I would be fine, and began calling me his lady phoenix after the benu bird if egyptian mythology. It stuck and has been my screen name for almost 5 years
My screen name is just a shortened version of my name.
I am Abbie Lou - shorten that up abslu.
It's been my screen name since I was 12, and I am now 26, so it's part of my identity!!
My real name is Karen. Kurn came from a girl I used to work with who couldn't or wouldn't say my name right. My husband thought it was funny so it stuck.
My name is Ana and my husband is Ariel and we got married May 31, 2003. So, aa053103.
Mine is Floophs...for whatever reason we hate using the word "fart" in our house. But ya gotta call it something, ya know. So shortly after my husband and I were married I "floophed" in bed and from then on he called me "floophs" or "floopher".
Too funny (and cute)!
Mine is pretty simple - I live in Texas (born and bred, y'all!), and I make a lot of cupcakes.
My screen name reflects my favorite NASCAR driver, Rusty Wallace. When I first became a fan he was driving a Miller Genuine Draft car. My name is Susan, but most people call me Sue...so I became mgdsue. The 02 was added because his number was 2.
