Does this need to be refrigerated? Also, would it taste good with a white chocolate cake?

TIA

It would NOT be suitable for a hot climate. The heavy cream is like milk except it has more fat; it will spoil if left out. I have spoilage paranoia so I wouldn't leave it out for more than one hour after it was refridgerated for a long time (meaning it'd retain the temperature for a while).

It depends on the recipe you're using. I add crushed oreos to my basic BC recipe and it doesn't require refrigeration. I think it'd taste great with white chocolate cake.

i just tried using cookies n cream filling for the first time this past weekend. i read on this site to just add the crushed oreos to my basic vanilla BC (so it didn't need to be refridgerated). OMG - it was absolutely deeeeeeeeeelicious!!!! it was for a kids birthday party and they all went nuts over it.
the cake i did was chocolate but i'm sure white chocolate cake would taste yummy with this filling also!

Thanks all for the help. I never thought to add oreo's to my BC. Perfect. My son will probably really like that.

hello! i realize im reviving a very old thread here but question...what if you scalded the cream before whipping? (like you would for ganache) would that make the filling safe to leave out at least for a day?

I put the oreos in the BC back in February for my DS's bday. All the kids LOVED it and so simple.

I am making a grooms cake in chocolate. Do you think the oreos in BC for the filling go well with adults too? I don't know what kind of filling to use for this cake that can sit out for a few hours. Any suggestions?
