This excel file works in MS Excel 2003 (and probably XP, and 2000)

That was me (cali4dawn at the time) and I've improved it since way back then. I'm always working on it. Anyone is welcome to it that is interested.

The matrix now handles multi-tiered cakes (up to 5 tiers) and Scratch, mixes or doctored mixes. It also has a quote page on it and an invoice page. And even though it has more detail - it is sooooo much easier to use tan when I first started working on it. Thanks to everyone who has ever used it and gave me positive and negative feedback. That has helped build it to what it is today - 0and it's always improving.

The servings sizes per cake pan is more accurate now also.

and as always - it comes with directions. You can get an email directly from me with n o viruses.

Thank you to MarinersFan for the proper credit. That isn't always common these days. Thumbs up to you!!

To those who requested a copy in the last few days- please resend your request. I just found a really silly simple mistake that affects your final costing. It's fixed and I'll be happy to resend. Unfortunately, I cleaned out my email this morning and no longer have your info.

I have 2 questions concerning cake prices.

Here, where I live; we don't charge by the slice, we charge by the pound.
Any difference in price you think?

And has anyone tried the new computer program "Cake Boss"? Could I apply that to the "charge by pound" style we got over here?

Txs in advance

by the pound.. .hmmmm.... I think you could still use any decent matrix, because your cost of your cost. Figure out how much this cake cost you and make sure your per pound price is covered -because I assume you weigh each and every cake that goes out the door.

Don't laugh icon_biggrin.gif But here it goes by the size of the pan (that particular size goes with that weight). I know, for me it still doesnt make any sense. But if one tries to change "tradition", one might end up without any customers icon_cry.gif
I am trying to implement the "price by slice" but it's like going into strange waters for these people. (clients)

Let me explain for example how it goes here;
Customer calls. Asks for a themed cake. You ask for how many people? They answer "in pounds". Like they might say, "I would like a 1lb or 1,5 lbs. How do u change a tradition?

They must be very well educated that know how many pounds serve so many people. Wouldn't that depend on the type of cake?

There are all sorts of viruses on this site. My virus protector is always "yelling" at me when I'm on here.

But back to the matrix. Shoot me an email and I'll send you my newest version which is much better than the one that was made available way back then. The one on here is old and outdated.

Has anyone used and had good results with tryingcake's matrix. I don't want to download another matrix unless it agrees with my computer and antivirus program.

It's not downloadable. I never gave permission for it to be a permanent fixture on the internet. I would rather it to be passed on from person to person.

If you want the real thing - and not the virus ridden version on the internet, please email me, as I have asked people to do several times.

email me and put matrix in the subject line.

It is an excel file. If you don't have excel - you won't be able to use it.

I will give this anyone who asks - but you HAVE to email me at the address given here.

I really wish this thread would be deleted as it is full of mis-information. How many times do I need to post - please email me and I'll send a copy? Come on, moderators - there isn't any issue deleting a post when someone criticizes CC, so I know it can be done. Please please please delete this one! Let's start a new one with actual facts.

Yeah they need to delete this one! Not every one is going to read through 15 pages to find out that the link is a virus! If CC would have deleted this one and have one with the correct information I could have avoided a $175 charge to fix my computer! I downloaded the matrix and thus the $175!!!!
