Hey, everyone I think the download is fixed as I was just able to download it so try again!
For those of you who been having trouble trying to download the cake matrix, I found a way to do so. I didn't have the microsoft programs (excel) etc so i went to openoffice.org and got the free downloads to these programs and bam I was able to open up the file!!!! So for those of you who have been trying to get it try that website. My only question is how to use you the matrix? Does everything you enter automatically calculate prices? Whoever came up with this is a genius. Thanks for sharing it to the rest of us.
You guys I can't download it!! It goes into my documents and then it ask me how to open it and thereis where i get stuck. Can someone help me??
monnitas0808 did you download openoffice.org? if so when you click on the saved document (Price Matrix) that box will open click on the second bubble. the first one says something about the web. the second ones allows to to browse to find the software you want to use to download it. Click on Openoffice and it should work in a couple of seconds
This is great! I am new to making cakes for sale and didn't know where to even start with pricing. Thanks!
I was able to download, and open the pricematrix, but being so new to this site, I'm needing a little bit of interpretation. I'm seeing stuff that indicates things like pan shape, size, cups of batter, the servings, baking temp, etc., but I guess I'm needing help interpeting exactly how the prices are figured?
Thank you so much for the worksheet!!! I've modified it to suit my needs, and it was an excellent help!! Thanks so much once again!

To get sales tax, take your final price for the whole cake and create a new cel that figures the formula for sales tax.
Say your final price is showing in cel A4 and your sales tax is 8%
The tax formula would look like this:
=Sum(A4*.0+A4
That would do it.
Edit! Corrected to show no smilies
I recently downloaded the pricing matrix and i'm have some trouble understanding it! If anyone could give me some pointers i would really appreciate it! Thanks!
I second that i have not a spreadsheet b4 and it really seems difficult. If anyone has any pointers please post thanks!
someone had asked earlier in the post about using this for cookies and other things. I am alos wondering if this can be used in that way. i have started doing a lot of ccokies and would like to know if i can use it like that before i download the proggie to be able to open up the matrix
Thank You Very Much for the download. I'm in the process of getting into the cake decorating business and this helped me out a lot. if you find that web site please let me know i can use all the help i can get.

Oh my word! What a blessing. I just plugged in the numbers for the cake I am working on right now. I was a little under in my pricing. But only by $20. But now I won't ever have to be under again!
Thanks so much for uploading this!
I'm new to cake decorating and I havent started getting a lot of orders so I have no idea of how to use this thing. I'm good at computers and I know Excel, but I was just gonna charge for my time basically. I was thinking like $15.00 for a 9 inch round cake with minimal designs.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!! to Dawn and Donna for putting these together! I have worked with spreadsheets in our farming business and it takes a ton of time and frustration sometimes to get these things to work out. You have obviously spent many, many, many hours on this and did a superb job!!!!!! Thanks again! Now I will look really professional when I give quotes to my clients!!!
This price matix is amazing. Thank you MarinersFan for posting this but thanks to Dawn or Denise who sent this to you!!!!

I hope you do get your pricing in line. So many under price their work, which is bad for the rest of us who want to get paid for working. People at times will come to my shop and say, "why are your cakes so high?" I can get my neighbor to make it for less.
Matrix is pretty cool. Wish I had it years earlier!

I downloaded the matrix and am playing around with it...I put in "2" layers of 11x15x2 cake. It says this will serve 154! Is this correct??
I got theMatrix to open But I am clueless Where do I put the info in? in the first cell in front of the cake mix or after? I think I'm lost Can any one get me started ?????????
That is the most amazing thing I have ever seen, and I'm an accountant by trade!! It would have taken me MONTHS to create this, and only after far too many hours on the computer instead of in the kitchen. Words can't express how grateful I am that I found not only this forum/website, but this thread as well. At least now I know how much I have been making (or not making) on my cakes.
Ok so can any one at least get me started? I need to make the cake in the wilton weddingcakes A Romantic Portfolio..page 5 called The Glow endures. Page four says timeless classics.....
Making this cake soon.
I think If my son was home from collage he could help...I'm computer savy but not with this program.
I don't know if mine downloaded right or I just don't know how to use it.
two layer 10" round cake $45? 3 cake mixes?
I figured it out WOHOOOO
Ok question on the deposit for rental items. If the items are returned do you refund the $ or is that ment to be kept for wear and tear?
If like me things are just borrowed and no issue of return you know it will come back do you skip this part?
I forgot to add how great it is.
I downloaded open office and it works fine now.
Whoever put that together took a lot of time and how wonderful to share. Thank you.
