I used RI for the outlining and the details, the base icing is dry fondant. I used a 1 tip, although it still spread. My biggest challange is writing. Anyone have any great tips?

THanks for your comments!

Your cookies are beautiful! I wish I had the ability to do something like that. Please don't mind my ignorance but what is "dry fondant"?

Thanks,
Naty

Nice Job!

Writing tips, umm practice - a lot of it. When I worked at the bakery any down time was used practicing on waxed paper sheets. I just wrote on them and then piped. I did different shapes and sizes of sheets to practice filling in the areas. It helped me be steady and to learn the pressure on the bag. The baker also showed me how to support my hand so it was steady. Now it's just instinct - I tend to pipe with my right hand and use my left (held like I was going to shake someone's hand) under my wrist to steady it. So I can concentrate on the pressure with the right and left kinda drives the motions for repetitive work. (I am not sure if that made sense.. sorry)

May be a no brainer to some but until I was shown how to do that I was not steady at all and trying to pipe with the one hand.

BUT...these look excellent, no problems with your writing!

Dry fondant is a dry powder that is made by CK products. It is super easy to use- no mixer necessary! Just add water and mix!

Great cookies-love the pineapple.
As for writing, I agree that practice makes perfect. Another tip given to me was to add a little piping gel to the royal icing, (I usually add gel of the same color as the icing) and it helps it to "flow" a little better-especially when using the smaller tips. You did great though!

i wonder if the problem you are having with writing on the cookies is the same that i was having before...where the letters kinda spread and sometimes the letters might run together? well if it is you can try what i did..thicken the icing that you will be writing with a little. wen i started doing that i didnt have that prob any more.
