I just read some epinions and am looking at the stats and it seems like for the same amount of money i can get almost twice the wattage and a 10yr vs 1 yr warranty...just wondering if anyone else has done the comparison as well. i read something about this in the Cake Disasters forum just a minute ago and am all excited about this new idea.

right now i am staring at a 705watt delonghi on ebay for under $200 (including shipping) and am wondering 'what's the catch?' (this item is buy it now and new). last week i tried unsuccessfully to bid on a number of 525 and 575 watt KA's on ebay and kept getting outbid in the $250 range, so this looks like a godsend to me!

I have both mixers-a 4.5 qt KA and a 7 qt Delonghi. Both of them are excellent. The KA is heavier and noisier than the Delonghi. Because the Delonghi is more powerful, you have to keep a careful eye on it when mixing delicate items like mousse or whipped cream. Most of the orders I get are for smaller cakes like an 10 or 12 inch cake, so I use the KA more often than the Delonghi. However, that Delonghi sure comes in handy when you get that order for a full sheet cake that calls for 7 recipes of cake batter! HTH
