Oh my I am insane at this point! I haven't slept much in a week and am soooo tired. I can't wait to get a chance to upload a few pics. I only had 4 orders for cakes but the cookies, fudge, peanut brittle..... I am going to have to hire help next year! Last weekend alone I did 600 cookies and 450 cakeballs!

Things always work out for the best.
Maybe you can take this time to work on items you use on your cakes that usually take more time than you have, or want to spend right then. Like fondant figures; royal, buttercream, or gumpaste flowers; things like that...
Is there something like learning how to cover cakes with fondant that you usually don't have time for?
Good luck to you!

Things will pick up. For now, enjoy the extra rest...you can finish your present-wrapping and spend time with family or friends. You don't want to be too stressed around Christmas anyway, right? icon_smile.gif

And some of you are just so busy! I hope you have at least a little time to rest and relax!!

well i kinda had a serendipity of sorts today...

a lady ordered a 25th anniversay cake...a 12 inch double layer.

i figured i was bored anyway...so i decided to give her a free upgrade...i did her a 6 and a 10 inch stacked...i like doing stuff like that sometimes...it really surprises them and seems to make them so happy .

ANYWAY...

come to find out when she came in...she owns a fancy old bed and breakfast that they also have alot of weddings and partys at....

and

we talked a little...and if we can work out the details i might be doing thier wedding cakes.

so in a way it was good i was so slow or i'd have never done the upgrade....

so we'll see how that goes...

Little cake...

see? everything happens for a reason! I like to do upgrades also!!

It does make people happy! I have one repeat customer that in the 5 months I've been opened...has already ordered like...6 cakes from me...So I can't wait to give him a little something extra..and I mean ...

BAKED GOODS!!! ( get your minds out of the gutter people...lol!!)

and he has refered 2 other people!!!

Don't you just love that?

So...Let us know what happens with the Bed and Breakfast....

Maybe you can even do SPECIALTY DESSERT CAKES FOR THEM!

Those can be done ahead of time and freeze well!

Let me know if you need any volume recipes!! I know you probably have a ton!! but I'll still offer!!

lol

Take care...happy holiday!
