They do look like a pine cone. I Think, I would in fill a little more so less of the center shows or use a dark center so it doesn't stand out so much.

I agree with Robin, fill in a bit more with the "petals" and definately a darker base. Pretty good looking pinecones! icon_smile.gif

Yep they look good....looks like a petal tip....but what is the "core" made up of? I would say yep, fill it in a little more to cover the core up, or make it the same color!!!

When I first made the core the two browns matched. But the Gum paste lightened up as it dried.

Thank you for the possitive comments. I was not sure about these things. My DH said they look funny.

Yeah wicked cool!!! I like them. Thanks for sharing about the colors changing as it dried. Will you airbrush them to make them uniform in color when you are all done?

I think they look excellent. I agree with making the core darker. If you do that, I don't think you need to make more "petals."
