That is what the exception to the one photo rule is for, to show up an up-close image of a cake topper or if the cake is two-sided. I think you are okay JaneK.

Ah, that is what I have done with many of mine, to show the closeup of the topper or flowers. Now today I went back and any cake that had 2 images and had less that 5 people saving it in their favorites, I deleted them.

Ok.. I wasn't going to comment to this post but now I find no way around it...

Tiptop57.. I tried doing that paint thing & my 2nd pic I added covered up the whole pic of the one in the background. Are you supposed to make the pics smaller before doing this? TIA for helping! icon_smile.gif

LOL!! I got ya'll!! I bet ya'll thought the Turtle was going to get involved in yet ANOTHER thread that goes nowhere! LOL!! NOT! icon_smile.gif

I think one is enough, usually. I think it's in the rules to just post one. But, hey... this is small beans. I'm not going to lose sleep over it. I'm glad people are happy and proud of their work!

My cousin reposted a few of our cakes, not long ago, because they were posted just before CC started updating. We were a little upset that our hard work hadn'treally been seen, so she reposted a couple of them with different angles. I think that upon occasion, there should be exceptions.

I'll admit that it drives me crazy. I want to be able to look at the home page and see many different cakes. Just yesterday 4 of the 5 pics were of the same cake (no need for different angles either). In the last thread about this Heath said that we are our own police so if there are too many pics of the same cake we have to report it. So, if it bothers you, report it.

I don't want to sound mean, sometimes there is a need for multiple pics.

Shirley, I can't believe you deleted some of your pictures. I am sad, I bet I was one of those who had saved a pic of yours that you have deleted. There was always a good reason for having more than one of your pics & showing a close up of a topper or something is a GOOD reason.

Oh I only deleted one of each cake where I had two views and very few comments.

As posted in PM to tcturtleshell regarding the stubborn photo busting loose on the paint page.....

There are a few ways around this issue that I know about 1) make the photo size a bit smaller before importing or 2) flip the photos making the one underneath the top photo 3) try dividing a new page in half for each photo and see if that doesn't give it enough room.

When saving my photos for web publication, I always save them at 50% of the original size, so it is possible you have a huge photo in a little space and it couldn't contain itself.......

tonedna, please don't delete any, we have all had gliches at one time or another, let's just start over & not upset the applecart by removing any pics. Your work is stunning by the way.

I also still think that rules were meant to be followed, not broken. And the 1 picture limit with few exceptions IS the rule. That is not hard to understand.

I don't believe this is a bad subject to discuss because maybe some people have not noticed the one picture rule and this thread will inform them. I almost have to question if the ones being so hostile here are some who don't believe the rules apply to them and don't like being told what the rules are.

Please no more flaming. The subject is not ridiculous, the hostility is.

Thanks for saying this..Is not a hostile comment people..I am not complaining either..Basically I am bringing a point here that might be nice..Obviously some people think everything is about bringing the bad in here but is not..It doesnt matter to me if people want to keep posting so many photos..I thought it would be a nice thing for everyone ... I dont post my cakes here to get views or more time in the front page...
I make plenty of cakes every week and post them here for my students to view..Basically is not about air time...not about whining or complaining ..is about those people who post photos that feel they are lost in the shuffle..is basically thinking about others...

And again Not a complain not a whine...just a question and a suggestion!.. icon_redface.gif If you like the suggestion and wanna try it..fine..If you dont..fine too..just ideas not trying to stir a pot here.
Sometimes people read things and think the worst ..Read it and think ...well we can do something about it..I know myself i will..I wont post one more than one picture per cake....And then again thats my choice... icon_smile.gif

I always find it ironic at CC that the people "sick of the drama" are always jumping into threads stirring it up. This thread was definitely blown waaayyyyyy out of proportion, lol.

Now back to the subject....

The FOUNDERS of the group made a rule so I think we should respect that rule. thumbs_up.gif

As I sit here reading this thread about who violated the rules and who didn't all I can say is there's a lot more important things going on in the world right now. Just last week a bunch of people in California lost their homes, people are still losing their lives over in Iraq not to mention those who are homeless and hungry. Yet some of us have time to squabble over who posted more than one picture and bumped other pictures off the main paged. Sorry, I just thought I would put things in perspective.

Cakeman_Jef: icon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gif LOLOLOLOLO -- That was good!

Second:

Cake_Princess:

Wow -- I agree that we should be thinking about others, but I think that comment is out of line here. Yes, there are some really serious things going on in the world, but this is a forum where people can post their ideas and opinions, right? I don't agree with the OP 100%, but to try to make her feel bad just for posting seems out of place. If that were the case, then no one should be posting here at all, and we shouldn't be discussing cake. I guess you could liken us ot Marie Antoinnette when she said, "Let them eat cake" in regards to all the poverty-striken, starving people around her. (She actually didn't realize it was a blow to them -- she thought, hey if they can't afford bread, let them eat cake.) But, in any case, I just had to comment back because the OP was just giving her opinion about a very real aspect of this site.

S.
