OMG this is too funny! What's worse is that it said "under neat."

Am I the only one who instantly thought that the person who took this order or who did the order didn't speak good english? It seems to me that that is what happened - very funny still!

Nah, I don't think it was an English problem. I think it was the sloppy talk so many of the younger kids do today. I've heard them actually say "Under-neat" for underneath.

I think whoever decorated this cake was related to a person my mother dealt with years ago. If you know what a White Castle hamburger is, you know they're addictive! The used to sell them frozen so you could take them home or to a friend where they couldn't get any. I guess they kept track of where they were going and when my mother said "Kansas" the girl laughed and said, no really.... My mother said, Kansas..... and the girl replied, you jivin'? cause kansas is only in that tornado movie. My mother insisted they were going to Kansas and the girl rolled her eyes and wrote down "KANZIZ"

This is a walking testimony to the statement of "There is a REASON that some people only make minimum wage!"

Hubby worked in a lockbox dept of a large bank....you know, the place we all send our credit card and utility payments for processing. One girl asked him if she needed to send a check that she'd rec'd to International fo processing. When he asked why, she said it was a New Mexico check. He asked her "So why would you send it to International?" She rolled her eyes in a silent "duh!" and said, "It's from NEW MEXICO!!!"

He said in the same tone of voice, "Which is part of THE UNITED STATES!!!!!"

I have a 2 and 4 yr old grandaugthers. The 2 year old was naughty to the 4 year old and I told her to go and say she was sorry to her face ( not just say sorry, but tell her sister directly). This reminded me of this incident because the 2 year old then went to her older sister and said to her," I'm sorry to her face!" I imagine this clerk was quite a bit older than a 2 yr old. This is so funny and I can't believe it left the store that way. Thanks for sharing

If I know one of my employees has weak English and I permit that person to take orders over the phone, you can bet your pa-tooty that I'm going to check every cake that goes out the door with MY name on it!

Agree - Still funny!

That was TOO funny! I have to laugh at your post title though. How do we know she DIDN"T read it back to her? LOL

I can just hear the conversation.

customer: It needs to say 'Best Wishes Suzanne, and underneath that, We will miss you"
Baker: Okay, so Best wishes Suzanne, Under Neat that, We will miss you.
Customer: Yep, that's it.
Baker: Okay, we'll have it ready for you on Thursday.
LMAO!! HAHA!

It reminds me last year when I ordered a baby shower cake from Publix. I had a picture of a cake. I just wanted the pink decorations and writing changed to blue since she was having a boy. When I picked up the cake they had written Welcome New Baby Upton in black since I had written the corrections I wanted on the picture using black ink even though it said to write it in blue on the order form.
