I'm sure this has been discussed but I can't find it in a search...
What brand vanilla do you prefer? I need a regular pure vanilla and also a clear vanilla. Quarts or gallons would be nice. I've had a few store brands that just don't taste great to me.

There are probally many opinions on this, but I perfer to buy pure vanilla extract, not imitation vanilla. I actually buy the great value brand from walmart. I don't have any idea where to buy gallons of it though!

For pure vanilla extract (brown), I use Tone's that I get from Sam's Club - they have 16 oz. bottles, but I think they also have it by the gallon.

For white pure vanilla extract, I use Adams - you can get it by the pint or gallon on their website:

Watkins vanilla extract is the best and both the Original Double Strength Vanilla and the clear vanilla comes in gallon sizes.

I buy my vanilla extract from here

and clear from country kitchen - they sell 2, 4, 6, 16 ounces and gallon size. CK brand never had any problems, works great

I use Nielson Massey products. I especially love their vanilla bean paste. I use it in my Italian meringue butter cream and it gives it amazing flavor. You use the same measurements that you would use extract, but this has the actual vanilla bean (specks and all) in it. I usually frost my cakes with fondant, so i can get away with making all my butter cream with it and not interrupting the design of the cake. I also frost my cupcakes with it and everyone seems to love the "gourmet" feel of the specks. I just love that I can get such a great flavor without the expense or trouble of actual vanilla beans.

I buy the Vanilla Bean Paste in quart size, but this company also makes vanilla extract in gallon sizes.

I get it from this website:
