Just got a call from friend having chemo at local hospital and they need three ckaes for this weekend decorated for a Breast Cancer Research Party they are having. Nothing like a last minute order but I LOVE it!

Trying to get some ideas......... The pink ribbon w/pink roses is all that is coming to mind. I looked on the web and only found pics of cake for the "pink parties" but mostly boobs in pink bras!!!!! I know I have seen some breast cancer related cakes on this website but cannot find any. I can't seem to get the hang of the search option. icon_cry.gif

Any thoughts, pics, links, etc would be appreciated! icon_biggrin.gif

Thanks,

BJ....judging from your photographs...I'm sure you will have no problem shaping a cake into the signature pink ribbon that are worn on lapels. Maybe take a round cake for the "loop" of the ribbon and do a tear-shaped cut out in the middle and from a sheet cake, I'm sure you could shape the "tails" of the ribbon.

A heart-shaped pan would also be sweet. You can shape a small ribbon out of fondant and place it on the top right as if it's on a lapel. Just thinking out loud. Good luck

I have a stuffed teddy bear wearing a pink shirt with the ribbon on it. Could you do a stand up bear cake, and ice it so she has the pink shirt with ribbon on it?

Good Luck - I can't wait to see what you make!!!

How about a cake made to look like a flower basket with pink fondant ribbons tucked in amongst them or around the edge?

OMG! Such great ideas! Thank y'all so much! I have two big orders for tomorrow already and a large one for Sunday and I was going brain dead and my computer is acting up! What timing!

The rep from the hospital called to say that she was a last minute person and would let me know if the approval came through and I still have not heard from her. It is now 9:15 pm and I am in full baking mode and have not heard from them! ugh!

Well if she does call I will have some great ideas to use. Thanks again! Y'all are the best!

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for the ideas but the lady never called back. nice, huh? I was really looking forward to doing them. It was sort of a blessing because I was already SWAMPED and I probably would not be able to type today because my hands are killing me from squeezing that icing bag all weekend! icon_cry.gif But that's good too!!!!! icon_biggrin.gif

Thanks again!
