I was asked to do about 80 cookies for a Poker themed 20th anniversary party. The couple got married in Vegas. Their daughter was thinking of the 4 shapes from a deck of cards, so it wouldn't be that much detail.

How much should I charge for fondant covered cookies?
What if i were to do the cookies in royal icing?

Another question....anyone know of any websites I could buy the cookie cutters from?

Thanks so much in advance.

Hi,
I made these cookies earlier this year. Got the cutters from Off The Beaten Path, cookiecutter.com. Do a search for card suits. They have a complete set for $4.96. I covered mine with fondant, then red and black sanding sugar. Will try to attach. As far as price, these were a gift, and I do this just as a hobby, so I don't know. Sorry.

General rule of thumb is $1 per inch.

I had a birthday party for an 80 year old bridge player, so I made rectangle cookies that looked like playing cards. We made them all Aces for faster productivity.

(Funny story: Daughter was making them and said she had no problems except for making the spade. I said, "You do know that a spade is just an upside down heart with a stem, right?" There was a big silence and then she said, "Ok, I guess I'll admit to you how stupid I feel right now!" icon_lol.gif )

I charge $1/inch and an additional $1 per package, so if you have four cookies in a bag then only an additional $1per bag with the four cookies inside... if you are baging each cookie individually then an $1 per cookie added to the cost.

I do cake-shaped cookies as wedding favors. If one of my standard designs is chosen, the price is $1.75. If I do a custom design to match the wedding cake, the price is $2.00. This includes individual bagging and a ribbon tie.

I agree with indydebi - don't short-change yourself on these, they are labor-intensive! I charge $4-10 each for my RI wedding cookies (have never done fondant-covered) & they sell like mad! Not all markets can bear that price, I realize (I'm in Seattle), but make sure you charge enough.
