My own wedding is Nov 4 (not much time left, I know) - and trying to save on costs, (venue and catering very expensive) -- I was thinking that I'd make my own cake. My initial idea (colors are lt. pink and chocolate brown) is a pink fondant cake with swiss meringue ribbon roses in pink and cream (a Martha's Stewart idea). I thought I might make lots of meringue roses, and use them with sticks in flower pots as the centerpieces/favors. But I can't really get them to look right. and it doesn't really incorporate the brown. I'm not the most experienced decorator - so can't be too extravagant - but - does anyone have any ideas? I'd like the centerpieces to be edible - match the cake - and serve as my favors.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts you might have!

not sure about the but too incorporate the brown why dont you pain the pots all brown or with poka dots or stripes, or you could tie a brown or brown and pink ribon around them.
