Could someone tell me the best ways to go about finding local events, craft fairs, and all other kinds of things going on locally to me?

What are some ways that you guys find out about these types of venues to sell at? I would like to be able to keep up with times and dates and where these events will be.

And what are some different events that happens in ya'll's (like my great southern way of spelling) area that's local to you all and what kinda of business do you get when you sell there? What times of the year or how often do you participate in events during the year?

What are your most popular sellers?

Does anyone sell to any retail stores around you? Like convenience stores or restaurants? If you do, how did you approach them and what pricing limits do you set?

Also events that you enter just for fun or contest?

Thanks for anything you guys here can tell me. BTW - I am in NC and I am legal as of today, Jan. 27th. icon_biggrin.gif

Thanks again icon_lol.gif

A good way to start is an internet search for 'holiday bazaar' 'holiday craft fair' etc.

Many links will lead you to more places and ideas.

As for pricing, you need to set that based on your costs. and local pricing, as well as your skill level. A good base for food items is total expenses for ingredients times 3 or 3.5. Then compare that to what will sell locally. If, based on your costs, you want to charge $2. for a fancy cookie, and no one near you charges more than 1.50 you have to carefully examine your expenses and see if your product is worth more.

good luck.

The Chamber of Commerce has a list of events and contacts. I went to ours when I became legal, and they gave me a list for our area.

A second thing to do - that I did, was go to your local bridal shops and ask them. If you do wedding cakes - they can tell you about the bridal expos. Since they most likely will be a participant.

Good Luck!
