Need Recipe From Christmas Cookies 2005

I have damaged my copy of Christmas Cookies 2005 by Better Homes and Gardens. It is the issue with the lime green cover and the writing in red. It is a magazine that is full of cookie recipes....

There is a recipe on page 103 called Peanut Butter and Oatmeal drops. I desperately need that recipe. I can still read the steps from the recipe but I can't make out the ingredient list. I'd be eternally grateful if someone could help!

If you need to see a picture of the magazine just let me know!

I don't have the book, but found this online. Could it be the right recipe? Do the steps match what is listed in your cookbook?

Thanks for looking, but no the steps don't match. I've found so many recipes that are close but everyone I've tried has been off. I've been baking cookies for 8 days trying to come close to that recipe.

I'm getting desperate!

I don't have a subscription to the magazine because I only buy the annual cookie magazine. But here is a link to the actual magazine. I could rebuy it from them and I probably will but I need that recipe before they could ship it to me. Here is the link to the actual magazine!

I have it right in front of me!!!

Here's the ingredient list:

1 c. butter, softened
1 c. creamy or chunky peanut butter
2 c. packed brown sugar
1 t. baking soda
1 t. baking powder
1/2 t. salt
2 eggs
2 t. vanilla
2 1/4 c. flour
2 c. regular or quick cooking oats
1 c. milk chocolate pieces (optional)

Jaime and Amber,

You both have me really curious to try these cookies!
Would you mind posting the STEPS........now that I have the ingredients......lol?

I hope they are my new "WOW" those are awesome mommy.....cookies!!!

Every Holiday season I try a few new recipes and I always seem to get OMG or WOW these are the best you've ever made.

I haven't come across anything that I may like til I saw the ingredients here.

Please post the steps for me to try.

Here ya go! The one thing I can share are the steps since that is all that is left of my recipe! Please pass it around and enjoy! I know my kids are going to flip out when they get home from school! Thanks again for sharing the ingredients!

1. Preheat oven to 350. In large mixing bowl, beat butter and peanut butter with an electric mixer on medium to high speed for 30 seconds. Add brown sugar, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Beat mixture until combined scraping sides of bowl occasionally. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Beat in the flour. Stir in the oats and if desired, chocolate pieces.

2. Drop dough by rounded teaspoons 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown. Cool for 1 minute on cookie sheet. Transfer cookies to a wire rack and let cool. Makes about 48.

To store: Layer cookies between waxed paper in an airtight container; cover. Store at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.

I changed the recipe a little. I use 1/2c. chocolate chips and only add it to half of the dough because some people will like it without the chocolate. They are fabulous either way!
