I am in the planning stages of a cake that will have a mask on the top. I may make some feathers to go on the mask, if I can figure out how to do this. I have been through all my cake books and can't find anything. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thank you.

Wow! Those are, um, interesting, lol. Does anyone know anything about rice paper? Is that the same as wafer paper? Not that I have used wafer paper either.

here is a link on how to make turkey feathers out of wafer/rice paper. I am sure that you can apply it to making other feathers.

Just in case- you would make the feathers the same method as you would for the butterflies: http://members.nuvox.net/~zt.proicer/cakepict/butterflies.htm

I have a feather cutter and veiner so they can be made out of gumpaste... I bought mine from Diane Gruenberg. You might be able to find one at Sugarcraft.
