UGGGh cake due in 2 hours and I just walked into the kitchen to find it splitting! What is my best option to fix this? It is a 10 inch round cut in half and put together for the semi-circle. I did cut some off the bottom so it would sit flat. Do I try to run a rod length wise/ OR Do I run 2 straight down in each end into the foam core board?

Hi NEW,

I would try some buttercream as a glue and dowel length-wise.

You could try and run a rod length wise as it seems to be splitting due to the heavier weight on top.Can you put some sort of decoration on the cracked area..Yah know us decoraters have to be crafty..I've hidden many boo boos that way!!

Thanks for the replies! This is the second "flyboat" for the same family this week, a party with each family. The first one was no problem. This one--Pain in the .....neck.....

I ran one length wise and I have some Choc. transfer characters and a flag to attach yet. The flag is a dowel rod itself. I might need to place it stratagicly.

Keep your fingers crossed for me!
